Lol I just posted a video about me "auditioning for the voice" because of the snapchat thing atm and I know it's gonna sound so hypocritical of me too, but omg you so get it!! When people tell me to go on the voice, I don't know how to explain to them that I'd rather do this on my own rather than going on tv to get discovered! Thank you thank you for this video aahhh

You make very good points, especially since your "thing" is writing great songs, and most tv talent shows require you to or "strongly suggest" you perform covers instead. I, for one, am a very average singer. I write comedy songs because the words are more important than the voice (I write some serious songs too but I don't post them). If I were to just post covers, I'd be less proud of my videos because my voice just can't carry a song.
