hiii! So im a mel stan, and i just suggest that u watch more interviews, and u recact to not only k-12 the album, but also the film! (I love your content so much, your actually underrated)
I was wondering why the video was gone lmao
PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE REACT TO GRACIES NEW ALBUM
Check out “How Nirvana Changed Music” and “Kurt Cobain: The Paradox of a Generational Icon”
Watching people finally listen to Nirvana is like watching someone lost in the desert and dehydrated find an oasis of clean water
Mhm
definitely
truest thing i’ve read
Real I love Nirvana sm🙏
Real
Your open mindedness is actually so dope.
the origin story really is i just wanted to find bangers and expand my music taste.
@@mkmetriGood on you! You honestly cannot do better than this band. The most influential band since the Beatles. Cobain was a genius!
@@user-mw3dd6ys1uYes, you can do better. Nirvana is good but youre acting like theyre the holy grail when they arent.
@@Sam-ni6bc your opinion
@@mkmetriyou honestly might like paramore! If you’re interested, I really like their most recent album but they definitely have some timeless bangers!
14:37 the lip balm application as the lyric is “i’m not gonna crack” is a paid actor
LMAO
Slow clap
"Endless nameless" is song that was made when band tried to play lithium but couldnt figure it out so kurt got frustrated and they just broke into this song, they used this song at the end of concerts to break instruments, and on the cd of nevermind after something in the way ends theres silence for about 10 minutes and then endless nameless starts playing as a hidden track
The song "Polly" was written by Kurt after reading a newspaper article about a crime that occurred in 1987 about a 14 year old girl who was kidnapped as she was leaving a concert. Her kidnapper took Polly and brought her back to his place where he s**ually assaulted and tortured her. The story actually starts back in July of 1960 when a man named Gerald Friend (who is the kidnapper of polly) abducted a girl and her brother who were hitchhiking in Sumner, Washington.
I loved your reaction and id like to recomend albums "ten" by pearl jam, "dirt" by alice in chains and "doolittle" by pixies, but also more of nirvana
yeah he should read this.
endless nameless - the one he didn't like/get yeah it's not really a song to "like" or "get" it's an end of the night fuck everything destroy everything we're done song.
Polly - the most controversial song by them (at least until rape me came out) both of which was very miss understood and caused a lot of hate from people that just didn't get it..
and lastly this is my first vid from his i've seen, random youtube recommend, but i really like that it's a full album react but curious if it was a full album react or if this is just a compilation of individual vids of each songs?
Yeah, it's like an anger jam - not really a "song" - a hidden track put on the end of the CD 10 mins after Something In The Way to scare the crap out of you when you thought the CD was done. Doesn't really work as effectively on a track list when people think it's a genuine "song". Loved your review :)
@everyone Couldn't have said it better!! " It's all in the music man, it's all in the meat " 🍖
@@awollsd it is full I'm pretty sure
appreciate yall for the information and helping me learn and not being weird about it 🫡 im tryna learn man.
28:28 is exactly when metri gets the appeal of grunge music
😂😂
Bro I stg I guessed the song before ai checked I just knew it would be Lounge Act
Nirvana makes BANGERS
made* sadly
@@jack_74yeah rip Kurt🪦❤️
9:03 that’d be Dave Grohl on drums (now lead singer/guitar of Foo Fighters)
thank you i gotta react to them.
@@mkmetri More rock reactions would be cool in the near future. To step outta your comfort zone and listen to new music to you, I think it would be great
That's DG on backing vocals too!
You can tell how influential Nirvana has been for rappers through the years. They were the kings of catchiness. A beautiful blend of pop melodies with raw punk energy. The lyrics means nothing but at the same time it can mean whatever you want based on your experience.
Cobain was a genius and it’s really cool to see people discover it and feel it to this day.
I think the moment an artist makes you want or at least think of trying to do it yourself is an absolute win, and a Nirvana song is one of the almost everyone’s first song to learn on guitar.
Legendary band
13:20 imagine writing a chorus that just the word yeah over and over and being able to pull it off.
please react to some other nirvana stuff. if you can, and react to the full mtv unplugged set they did. it was performed a few months before kurt’s death and it’s gorgeous, spine chilling and so beautiful. loved the reaction!!
i definitely will 🫡
@@mkmetribro check out their first album bleach tons of raw energy or incesticide which is a good mix of the bleach and nevermind sound
@@sxbvstixn7964bro, bleach is the most metal album of NIRVANA, which he doesn't like💀
Unplugged is magical. If you can, react to the video not just the album/audio
@@mkmetrinirvana unplugged was the greatest performance of all time, listen to it until the end. the end will show you why its the greatest of all time
Always here foe your Lana reactions, and now Nirvana??? This is great!!
🤝😅
Lana and nirvana my top 2 ❤️
“Something in the way” was featured in the soundtrack of the last Batman that came out with Robert Pattinson maybe that’s why it sounds familiar (if you watched it)
i just found you from the melanie vid, im so glad i can jam out with you for basically every song, ur vibe is immaculate (its also so crazy that people are hearing this album for the first time, ive been LIVING OFF OF IT🙌🙌)
We love it when Kurt stomps on a distortion pedal
'Breed' will never fail to inject adrenaline directly into my veins. Nirvana was my adolescence. The voice of Gen X without question. Spitting in the face of the world, the unreasonable ones that insist on changing the world rather than changing to fit it. The music works especially well in a mosh pit. Except for Something In The Way... that song is only for listening to under a bridge, nodding out from heroin. Endless, Nameless was a hidden track... which worked way better when the music was on cassette and you had to just let it keep playing long past the last song to discover it. Unlabelled, unlisted madness trailing on the end of the tape.
Endless nameless was actually a secret song when kurt cobain got mad when messing up recording lithium multiple times So they just started improvising and playing random things even though they didn’t care about it sounding good.
when people listen to nirvana for the first time its like they found nirvana
Polly is a dark song. It's about a real-life kidnapping of a girl in Tacoma, Washington. She was leaving a concert and this guy named Gerald Friend kidnapped, raped and tortured her. Kurt wrote it from the perspective of the kidnapper so it would be so uncomfortable for the listener and you'd never forget the story. It's an anti-rape song.
Butch Vig, who produced the album, called it a haunting track. I'd agree with that. Keep rocking on your reactions. So genuine and fun seeing you discover new music.
Also, Lounge Act is my favorite. Glad you loved it, too!
to explain a lil about the last song endless, nameless it was the secret track on the record (it would play after a while after something in the way) and it was them raging when they were trying to play Lithium
3 videos in one day lets gooooo💪🏾💪🏾
If you loved this, you'll love Nirvana's album In Utero!! Nevermind is easily a 10/10 album, but In Utero only takes things a step further
hi metri i love your vids and reactions SO MUCH! i recently discovered your channel and ive never been happier, you make my days better and i want to thank you. you also have opened my eyes and ears to new genre of music and ive learned about rhythm, cadance, and beats thanks to you. i love seeing people who appreciate music and broaden their taste, i hope your channel continues to grow. but as a lana stan, please listen to lust for life next!!! or channel orange by frank, or k-12 by melanie. keep doing you💕💕
🤞🏿
Yess!! I’m so happy you did this!! if I could go back in time and see one band perform live it would be Nirvana 100% 😭
Fiona Apple “When the Pawn…” next pleaseee metri
I COMPLETELY AGREE. HIS REACTION TO FAST AS YOU CAN WOULD BE AMAZING
OMG YES
nirvana let’s go! i just know you’re gonna luv this album before even watching it
edit: i was right LOL 7:35 bro was so disgusted at how good come as you are is and i couldn’t relate more, it still hits. also couldn’t agree with you more about how amazing it is discovering new music, i need to go on a music journey again. i’ve been listening to the same stuff.
36:33 LMAO yes you probably have from the batman movie with robert pattinson, at least that’s the first thing that comes to mind
42:52 totally is an acquired taste and don’t feel like you can’t be fr because this is YOUR listening and you can still love an album or artist and dislike songs from them, although it’s also hard because when Nirvana was in its prime they were playing shows and a lot of these songs were MADE for shows and moshing. it’s definitely a different experience seeing them live rather than hearing it through spotify. endless nameless is definitely a song i don’t listen to but would love seeing live if i could.
2 days ago i saw a clip of you on tiktok reacting to melanie martinez and now i’m hooked on all your videos. your vibe is so raw and you just gained a new subscriber!!
this is one of my favorite nirvana albums drain you and Polly are my absolute favorites on the album haha slowly becoming my favorite reaction channel I love that you react to a bunch of different genres cause I love all genres
YOU ARE MY NEW FAVORITE CHANNEL ON UA-cam. BIIISH. I DIDN'T EVEN WATCH THE VIDEO YET BUT THANK YOU FOR NIRVANA.
I literally just woke up and found 3 new Metri videos on my home page, so happy rn 🙏🫶
I’m so glad I discovered your channel 😭, you’re genuinely super fun to watch and I love your reactions
Tbh I’ve been meaning to listen to more Nirvana songs so you reacting to them makes it easier for me to follow along and reassures I won’t miss anything in the lyrics
Really like the reaction, continue doing you
DROPPING BANGER AFTER BANGER! I LOVE YOU METRI
you’re introducing me to music i never would have even touched, thank you!!
yo i actually love this so much because it reminds me of when i first listened to nirvana, i believe in you bro your gonna make it far with youtube
I love your reaction videos sm!! These genuinely make me so hsppy 😭🫶
The last song is like a statement on the ethos of Punk rock. It's a fitting ending for Nevermind in my view
Your reaction to drain you made my day seriously. How you got so into it after the breakdown made me happy man, truly one of their best songs. Keep on exploring music!
atp i’m binge watching all your videos rn
I just found this and you know what I'm so far digging your videos
I loved your original reaction had to rewatch
It was a real treat to see someone hear Nirvana for the first time and react! Thank you for the upload, dope vid
I’m so excited cause eventually you’ll react to their live performances and I promise you that the lives surpass the official recorded versions
SCREAMEDDD THIS IS MY FAVOURITE ALBUM EVAHHHHHH
Love that you're discovering new music bro, especially rock/grunge. Would love to see a Black Sabbath album reaction - there are a lot to choose from but Paranoid is probably the best to start with. Great video keep it up!
Man your reaction when Breed kicks in is absolutely priceless. I had a big smile on my face. I grew up loving this album.
Fun facts about Kurt:
1: His sister came out as a lesbian and he was totally fine with it, but he was afraid people would bully her.
2: Kurt said he wished he was gay because he wanted to annoy homophones. (Idk if it's true, but some people say he thought he was bisexual)
3: he was a feminist and didn't like men "touching" women during nirvana concerts and once a woman got r@p3d during his performance and it made kurt stop singing, Krist and Dave stopped playing and pointed at the guy while laughing to him meanwhile kurt said "look at him!" While laughing at the guy.
4: Kurt didn't like "smells like teen spirit" and didn't understand why it was so popular. He's favorite song of his own was "Drain you"
(IM SORRY MY ENGLISH AIN'T THE BEST🙏🏻😭)
Wasnt Sappy Kurt's favorite? To be fair, we arent Kurt so idk
@randommobilegaming4624 fr though :PP i heard that his favorite song was Drain you but I could be wrong :D
Iconic and legendary album ❤
u best!!! You`r reactions... it is fantastic
One: love this album and love your reactions. And two: I’ve watched you and sense you were at 5k subscribers and watching you grow is amazing. Love your reactions
so glad to see people new to nirvana listen to them for the first time, kurt cobain was a musical genius may he rest in peace, also if you want a little more, check out the foo fighters, nirvana's drummer dave grohl went on to found the band doing vocals and lead guitar a couple years after kurt died and nirvana disbanded, they're post grunge which is a little less crunchy than grunge but the foo fighters still share a lot of dna with nirvana
also on the topic of metallica, they don't scream but their riffs are very fast because they're what's called thrash metal, which evolved from speed metal which was already meant to be fast to be even faster, some songs are an exception like enter sandman but most of their stuff is extremely fast, they're still a class band but from most of your comments you most likely wouldn't enjoy them, i'd still watch the hell out of you going through the black album or master of puppets though
13:00 just how Krist on bass rounds out that chorus underneath is so boss
Seeing people react too Nirvana gives me joy
Loved your energy in the react! Keep up with the good content.
Greetings from Brazil! =D
Hey, I really love rock music and I loved this reaction! I think a fun reaction vid suggestion is The Offspring.
you make me smile dude..."discovering new shit is beautiful"...well said
So happy to see more people listening to Nirvana theyre so good also I think you should check out the band The Crane Wives, their The Fool In Her Wedding Gown album specifically its sooo good, they dont have a lot of fans so itd be awesome to see you react to their music
bro this brought light to my soul
i love seeing people react to one of my favorite bands!
you should watch lana’s live cover of heart shaped box by nirvana!!
omg yes when she hits that note in that cover it’s crazy
YES‼️‼️‼️
PLSS
Well let him listen to in utero before💀
No
Recommend deftones next songs I recommend are
“Change”
“Teenager”
“Mascara”
“Cherry waves”
“Rosemary”
I also recommend the my chemical romance album three cheers for sweet revenge
NO BC I WAS THINKING THIS TOO!1!1 I love deftones and I was thinking he should listen to the whole White Pony album. :p but I think he would really hate Elite even tho it’s like my fave from that album lol
Great!! Thank you!!
Good to see a person reacting to it and giving an opinion on like the guitar and drums, I hate reactions where they just sit there, thank you for being different I'm subbing 👍
nice videooo!
Would love to see you react to their In Utero album or the MTV unplugged set.
Hey man you really good at your cuts. Even though you are clipping the songs they come across smooth. 👍
I love how u didn’t love drain you at first but by the end u seemed to. Great song
reaction to lounge act was so valid 🙏🙏
Random find! Glad you enjoyed the album, as an 11/12 year old when Nirvana hit this was EVERYTHING. No playlists/skipping songs then, the album was an experience. No UA-cam lyric vids either 😂
I GUARANTEE you’ll love the Black Album by Metallica. 💯
Love the reaction, and how open minded you are and honest you are! You dont pretend everything is a 10/10 cause you dont have to😁
It’s surprisingly hard for people to open up like this to a diff genre, but tbh the fact that it’s so raw with actual instruments just makes it so much better.
This album changed the world
Grew up on this album! Would love to see you react to the album Follow The Leader by Korn!
bruh i love your videos what the heck
i just subscribed awesome content
this channel fire ngl
Great to see rap fans enjoy rock, I’m a fan of both but I love seeing this content don’t stop it
Seeing you react my man is absolute gold!!!!!!!!!!!
Same reaction I had in grade 9 listening to it.
Had my CD player on my hand, cranking to highest volume. INSANITY. It just feels like someone wrote a pop song for the regular person, that wasn't fake, but still kept it catchy and interesting.
You should listen to the in Utero album next :)
You gotta do In Utero, their last album. Its sound style is a lot more grungy and raw. I know what you said about the e screaming.. but in utero is amazing, trust me you’ll love it 😭
This was awesome to watch dude lmao good times, good times indeed !! LOL
I feel like lyrics really depend on what they mean to you, which makes you feel a deeper connection to the song. It's one of my favorite parts of songs, finding meaning in lyrics that would otherwise be meaningless (Unless it's really in your face on what their trying to convey, but Kurt really didn't focus on lyrics at all; saying he would sometimes write lyrics quickly right before they recorded the songs. They really loved and focused on the music and how it sounded, I think that is one of my favorite things about the band. Kurt also didn't like people reading too deep into his lyrics trying to find a meaning when there wasn't one, so I always love finding my own meaning in the music)
You should react to some of their songs they performed on their MTV unplugged set, it’s iconic af
the reaction to endless nameless killed me, personally for a song that was made on the spot out of pure rage its a banger
HE POSTED AGAIN!
8:40 them riffs had bro GAGGED 🤣
great to see you enjoyed it man, very jealous you got to listen to it for the first time lmao. subbed :)
growing up always knowing this makes me sad knowing I’ll never have this experience of hearing nirvana for the first time
Your reaction to Endless Nameless was mine.
If you're every really really filled with energy and need to just let the rage out, it's a good one.
Territorial pissings is my favorite on the album 😂 between the band going apeshit and kurt just fu*king losing it at the end .. u can feel the emotion in that song
your reaction to "Lounge Act" was same as mine first time i heard it!
Wait till you see In Utero! Also I would love to see you watch Nirvana interviews they are my favorite band of all time!
sorry to comment AGAIN but like... the joy i have seeing you enjoy this... if you continue on a journey with this strain of music your musical world will expand ten fold, like how i grew up with this stuff and then starting listening to rap and hip hop and my mind was blown.
you should definitely react to pierce the veil soon !!!
hahahha i love all of ur videos so much and youre so funny but you deserve so many more subs!!
massive w
You should listen to their last/next album in utero and read its bio before listening!! They also have a longer version of in utero with cut out songs so you could here some more hits🔥🔥🔥
i love in bloom so much it literally means so much to me. kurt was on some real shit talking bout that bc you can say something that has some deep meaning and people will only care about the surface of your words, all they see is a couple of letters put together and not the meaning behind them 🙏🙏
Dude you are hilarious appreciate the laughs
This really is one of the best albums of all time in my opinion. I wish I could go back and listen to this for the first time again.
