I remember the very first time I ever heard this song... It was in 1984 when at the age of 15 I had discovered that at the thrift store I could buy for quarters entire Bee Gees albums by the ton. I already had the 45 "Emotion", but the minute I saw Samantha's entire album (which, thankfully, is now remastered and available for purchase on iTunes) I immediately bought it... Oh my God. The album starts out light in mood, then steadily grows more and more wistfully sad as it goes along - it's not only possible but very easy to hear a story being told in these songs like a concept album. And the whole thing closes with this song, bringing the whole album to a heartbreaking finale. And every time it would fade, I would sadly wonder to myself, "Where is Samantha now...?..." and I would get so wistful. I played the album for my aunt and she said, "She'll come back. She's too good." "I don't know about that..." I answered sadly. I think she still preforms...? I can't remember. But either way, she's still a precious treasure.❤
