It's called a divider, which you can get from Amazon. I use it to mark the even space in between. I use an awl to make a hole though.

Wow!!! I love ur bead work I’m not a huge fan of lazy stitch but for something like this I can try to do??? Is there pattern I can use or order for my 3yr old toddler???

hello, what kind of needle do you use? and what thickness of hide? beautiful beadwork!!

I use "John James Sharps Longues 012"
The thickness of the hide is medium in this case.
