Can't get over the massive twin farttubes right down the center. An elemental can just jump in, destroy the JJ from inside and then he has a fortified upside down castle to melt through your knees from, and there's absolutely nothing you or your lancemates could do against it. Can't shoot him off, can't reach him with your hands, even if you just sit the mech down he'll just melt through the core instead of your knees. Only possible remedy would be to get the mech on its hands and knees and have a friendly machine perform a proctological examination manually.
Hello CR. The Legacy isn't a 'bad' Mech, but I never used any on the tabletops. I did play with the design in MegaMek's MekLab. I took the LGC-03 design and made a few changes. I ripped off the SRM and its ammo, the CASE, and the ER Small Laser. In their place, I added a pair of IS-DSHS, a 3rd ER Medium Laser, and a Medium Pulse Laser. Mostly I didn't like the SRM Ammo's chances at explosion, even with CASE. So, it had to go. By shifting Endo-Steel crits around a bit, I was able to fit the exttra pair of DSHS into the right torso and right arm. The 3rd ER Medium Laser was placed into the left arm where the er small once fitted. The Medium Pulse Laser was moved to the Head. The Mech now sports 16 DSHS, and can thus run and fire both Heavy PPCs without overheating. It goes without saying, really, that the dissipation can easily cover the shorter ranged weapons no matter what the Mech does. I pondered removing the C3 system, but realized that this is a 'Command Mech' and would need the IC3 to mesh with other C3 equipped units. Building an Assault Mech with the IC3 was the primary purpose for the Legacy in any case. I did not fall into the 'trap' that most would choose, by changing the Heavy PPCs for ER PPCs, even if that meant I would have been able to add more ER Medium Lasers. I feel that the loss of a potential 10 damage with the change in weaponry was not worth it for the range, and that the Mech's lance mates would enable the Legacy to close the distance to effective range with those Heavy PPCs, rather than rely upon being a 'stand off' Command Mech that just snipes away with a pair of ER PPCs like so many other Command Mechs. I know that losing the SRM launcher removes the chances for 'crit fishing' with the Legacy, but if you are close enough to want to fish for crits, the Medium Pulse Laser should work nicely. Also, I didn't want to alter the Mech's design too much away from the 'book' specs. I think that a possible 19 energy weapon damage at close ranges is decent enough, with the possibility of a physial attack as well. And that is not mentioning a possible DFA by an 80-ton Command Mech! Overall, most of the Legacy Mech designs are fairly well done. Enough so that I would field them if pressed into the selection. As I've said before, I didn't play during the Dark Age, and WoB Era. So I never really needed to look into the designs until just before the IL-Kahn Era. The LGC-03-GL design is just me playing with things just to do so. Adding my 'flair' to an existing design. If limited to what I could change on the Mech, I would probably remove the ER Small Laser and half a ton of armor, in favor of adding an extra IS-DSHS to push it up to a full 30 dissipation rate. Yes, the Mech gets hot running, or jumping, and gunning those Heavy PPCs, but the change would be minimal and easy to accomplish 'in the field'. In any case, enough from me for now. Keep making videos. I know that I enjoy each new one as they become available, and I am sure that many out there appreciate your work at least as much as I do.
The writup isn't horrifically egregious, I think the story of a failed mech given new life is fine. Just the wobbies have a bad track record of being "The best and greatest to ever do the thing and stuff and own the House Lord Chuds" and then do a religous war against everyone. Sometimes its more interesting to stop the timeline, and instead tell stories in the timelines you already have. I'm looking at you 40k, about to be 41k
To be fair the wobs get absolutely demolished eventually. I will say the liao being supremely confident is definitely out character. In the latest stories.
Lop sided, top heavy, oversized barrels. All these artists should be forced to do maintenance on the gyros. That'd teach 'em! Other than that its not too terrible, but the feet are too small for that much weight. It would sink in any soft ground painfully quick. Its got almost no flotation.
it looks top heavy .. the legs do not look like they can support / balance the top umm - i hate to say it , but a lot of military hardware does have hazard and caution markings... when this video popped up i thought the Right Arm had er larges in it,,, not mediums
Double tapping at long range but using short range because of C3i is brutal. Phoenix Hawk IIC can wreck. It really depends on if the 10 point hit get same location or not.

Solid mech with a solid range of variants. The surprising pat is how good it looks compared to many of the ugly mechs in the TRO.
The -002 is pretty brutal in a full C3i lance.
