@@andthebanshees Vaping as a teen often leads to smoking as cigarettes are cheaper and more plentiful, and don't pose any feeling of harm at the start of the addiction.

I've quit on and off for a couple years now. I'm 25 and started when I was 14. This is truly terrifying to witness. I will quit smoking permanently as of this moment. RIP Terrie.
My sister died from lung cancer at age 58, she started smoking in high school. I tried many times talking with her about quitting but she was addicted and she paid the ultimate price. I miss her so much.
Twenty years of Pall Mall cigarettes killed my mother. Over two years of complete terror, my Dad had to witness 24 hours a day, without the ability to stop the cancer, or help her. She lost one lung first. Then she had to have 1980's radiation to her brain to stop a brain tumor. Then, an infection in her lung cavity exploded one Saturday morning, through a boil on side of the chest incision, and a quart of infection spilled out on the bed and onto the floor. My mom moaned, "thank God, I can breath again." My dad completely freaked out and called my moms nurse friend down the street. At the end, my mom was so high on morphine for the pain, she only recognized our faces but couldn't say our names. I was glad when God came to end my mom's suffering. She had the very best care people of our lower middle class living could get. And she had been a head nurse at a hospital for about ten years and had numerous fine doctor and nurse friends. They worked so hard to fight the cancer and to keep her body and her spirit alive. But what that did, was prolong her pain until it was unreal. At the end, her skin was like tissue paper. She will always be our mom, my Dad's breath of life and our family warrior. Cigarettes took her away from us but her spirit lives on, inside of me and my brothers, every day. Thank you , Mom. And Dad. Rest with God.

As a former smoker (heavyly addicted, pack a day), i can say that these kinds of ads DO NOT scare smokers into quitting. Sure, they might scare kids and teens into never smoking, but not smokers. Smokers already know these risks; it's not a lack of information situation, but an addiction problem.
Right. It'll never work, anti smoking industry toys on doing the right thing and profiting off of it. Big tobacco and big anti tobacco are both a problem here.
i saw this vid before i started smoking and thought "huh i'm glad i don't touch cigs" but now that i am trying to quit. this sounds like a horror movie talking directly to me.
Now this is a real ad and unique showing how scary it is and the impact it places in people's mind. Ads nowadays make no sense showing you monsters and teenagers exaggerately freaking out in an abandoned school or something kind of like a movie. Smoking isn't a video game or a movie it's the real deal that can harm you and kill you.
I quit almost 24 yrs ago. Could not have done it without the nicotine patch. Best decision i made. When you go to sleep and hear your lungs make some kind of wheezing sound, FFS QUIT!
you know who really did this? The tobacco companies. My father used to say; "Oh everyone smoked in the 1800's and cancer was almost unknown, it's all the vehicles that cause cancer." He died 20 years ago after his 2nd heart attack. Mother died 12 years ago from COPD. Both heavy smokers, dad hand roll, mum tailor mades. A few months ago I was digging in my garden and I found some old pieces of clay pipes from the 1800-early 1900's. I saw why the smokers back then didn't get half the smoking related diseases we get now, the hole in the pipe stem was a sewing needle size, and the bowl held about a teaspoon of tobacco. Now, cigarettes today are ten times the size and if you hand roll the papers allow you to build a large smoke. Just like the toothpaste company who doubles profit by doubling the size of the hole in the tube, tobacco companies made cigarettes bigger and bigger so you got more of that good old addictive smoke in you, and then they turned it from something you did at the end of the day with a pint of beer, probably a todays cigarette worth smoked all day to being something you did from the moment you woke up until you went to bed. It's true no-one forces you to smoke, but the advertising back in the 60's-70's made fairly certain most people did.
It saddens me to see so many people around me smoke. I've been aware of the effects of smoking since ever and never touched one. Tho those who are struggling to quit, don't give up, you can make it.
i needed to hear this the most i can go without a cigarette is 2 days idk if i can ever quit but reading this motivates me to try to give it a try again much love brother❤

They even had ads with Dr.s promoting it. Also movies helped popularise it by making it look glamorous
This brought me to cry...
This video needs to be on a QR code on cigarette boxes.
I remember seeing this on tv and it scaring the crap out of me. But I will never pick up a cigarette in my life, much less smoke it.
4 months and 2 weeks free , i feel great
Hope it's over 5 months now! Keep it up, man.
My mother has smoke since she was 14 years old, and now she’s 49 and still smoking😭💔
I just saw this commercial on tv. This has to be the saddest... Please guys do NOT smoke :'(
I don't smoke I vape
@@rip_plxshy vaping is still bad for you
It saddens me to see so many people around me smoke.
Recently quit about a month ago. I was vaping, but still it’s not very good. It is possible, and I’m glad I’ve kicked it. Saving money and my health. Just get through those first 5 days, then nothing can stop you. You might get a bit angry at people, but they’ll understand. Don’t give up!
😭 I feel so bad
Me too she Was Only 53
Why?? She signed up for that. They've known it's bad for you for nearly 70 years!!
I have never smoked. My exhusband handed me his cigarette and I took one puff and went “why in God’s name would you do this?”
RIP Terrie hall
this could of literally been my dad if it wasn’t for me, he quit when he found out my mum was pregnant with me.
Good Dad. A Woman said she was the opposite, that she smoked heavily until finding out she was pregnant and quit cold turkey. Her Baby was healthy, thank God. 😀
this is sad. Rest in peace ❤ 🕊️
