Agreed, superyachts are cool but imagine actually having to run one, more crew than actual passengers it seems, like running a small business, nothing leisurely or intimate about it.
You know what I like about your videos is that there are no bells n' whistles. Just down to talk about the boat in simple terms, if you use jargon, then you always explain. Quite like this boat, although not sure on the placement of grill.
As far as I know, Galeon are pretty customisable. They certainly are on their bigger boats - so you should be able to replace the griddle with a TV unit or whatever.
Grill threw me off as well, prefer it to be in the cockpit so I can use it without opening up all of the deck saloon. Prefer the flybridge yachts as they provide more 'outdoor' space on the boat for wetbar and seating, without compromising the integrity of the weather-tight 'indoor' space.
My wife & I completely agree about the “photo of your loved one by the bed.” Perfect. This is an incredible package for such a small boat. Absolutely love it.
Would love to hear what you dislike (if anything) about these boats! As a boat owner I think you would have more insight into the negatives that a non-boat owner may not pick up on
It's tricky. Unfortunately yard folks get weird about letting a walkthrough happen if they know it's going to be a review. Sadly the only way is to be consistent and treat all boats to a walkthrough tour, even privately owned boats.
A proper scale version of a yacht. Utilitarian, with a very tasteful design. Weekends or summer vacations or even a year round "get away" parked at a marina for ready access to ride out a storm at the dock or head out to sea on a whim. Thanks again, Nick, for the tour. BYW, I've noticed that the size, outfitting or price never influences your enthusiasm for boats, as EVERY boat has something cool to offer. How refreshing...
2:56 Did anyone else clock the foredeck window was coffin-shaped? What a great boat. I like the idea of pod drive. It seems to make more sense than an old fashioned rudder. I am sure there are arguments for and against though.
Shaft and props are much much cheaper to repair if you hit the ocean floor and that happens alot! Pods are a fortune to fix! Thats one disadvantage of pods!
@@baddazzgarage2953 I agree on maintenance, but if you hit the ground, which should never happen, also the repair of a shaft driven boat will cost a fortune.
Such a huge fan of your videos! I sail on sailing yachts rather than motor yachts, but I’ve always found motor yachts rather exciting! Thanks for putting our great content as per!
I do like what Galeon do with the space in their boats. That's a really smart layout - a lot of boat in a small package. It looks to be good value considering what you get - I especially like the snug, given it's in addition to two full cabins and two heads! And a tender garage to boot! My only reservation is the indoor BBQ, I'm not sure how easy it'll be to get the smell of fish out of the saloon...
When I see my man Nick, I can't help but click.Thorough interesting tours with one continuous shot for perfect continuity. You see it all & get an education in the process.
Live the master, it has the feel of a much larger boat. I was thinking that it's a shame there was only one head, when Nick says "oh I forgot the day head". Thanks Nick
A cosy boat, love the layout, could really see myself living on that! (but then I say that about them all) My dream is always a wee Nordhavn, but I also wonder if having a bit more pace would be handy sometimes? I choice sadly I don't anticipate having to make in real life...
Hi. I do like that helm position, a great use of space indeed. What I would like to see is a partition added, so that the day heads could become apart of the guest cabin. For added convenience for your guests
Thank you for helping me find a goal in life. I'm currently working hard to be able to start charter business. I may not ever actually achieve it but wherever I end up I surely will be accomplished!
That Kitchen table was a big surprise, clearly wasn't expecting that in this size. No need to go upstairs to eat just go out of bed and sit there. Also a good place to get some peace and quiet when the younger ones are partying above,
Great layout for the size. I like the galley aft, really, but would not disqualify this one for this. I think these "sweetspot" size boats are so clever in terms os space utilization.. great tour as usual. Cheers!
Excepting the low head space in the master and the wet bath, this could me my fav in this price range. But ..... i will chose a SH one a little big bigger (46-50 )... Very nice tour ,thank you ,Nick
Like it! Definitely within the 'reasonable aspirations' rather than 'wildest dreams' category! Good layout & lots of space. Particularly like the rear facing seating in the cockpit! Thanks for another great vid & congratulations on 150k Nick!
Very nice Nick, thank you. Only one thing that I really dislike and cannot understand why there isn't sufficient barrier between the shower and the toilet? Curtain at worst or a revolving door? Pity otherwise a lovely boat. Thankyou
To get two cabins, two heads, a lower dinette, a deck saloon and a cockpit and a tender garage into a 42ft boat there's always going to be a degree of compromise. Make the heads bigger and what are you prepared to lose?
Congrats on the 150k subs! It's my 3rd week since I subscribed to your channel and I might say, you're one of my favourite UA-camr already. Much love from the Philippines 🇵🇭
At the 2:50 point, did anyone find it a little disconcerting that the window is shaped like a coffin? Thanks for the video, as always a pleasure to watch.
Forward facing propellers look very strange! Really like Galeon boats, they're among my favourite of your videos, hope you do one of their 780 Crystal one day
A very nice boat, good solutions for the helm, galley and dining area. Good outside areas which are surprisingly large. Jet ski and tender on a small boat very clever use of space. This is a boat worth having, I like it alot. Stylish and practical. Thanks for the tour, take care and stay safe, keep washing your hands. 👍👍👍🚢🛥⚓⛴🛳☠🚤⛵😎. Nice little cameo from white bag, looking after your water in the cockpit, so no one can spike it and take advantage of you. 🤣😂🤣👍👍👍
I almost paused the vid at the 8:33 mark to type that "he forgot the day heads! he forgot the day heads!"....which he did....but got around to it. Silly of me to think that Aquaholic would ever fail in giving a complete and proper tour.
Nick, I assume the seating area on the main deck has a table that lowers to make another bed ... Also, would you consider expanding on the start of this video to create a series of short 'Intro to boats' videos to introduce other things like the pod drives, maybe to include things like radar, autopilots, generators, water makers etc. Maybe also to include maintenance considerations ... Cheers, love your work!
My goodness that's a lot of boat for the money. So many features you'd not select on a boat this side. Well Nick, may I call you Nick? Or should it be Sir Nick. Surely you deserve an OBE for your fantastic contribution to the yachting community. 😉 Anyway, another mighty fine job of presenting a boat.
Another stunning piece of kit, loved the little nook downstairs and also the colour scheme. Not sure it would be my boat if I had that little lotto win though. Thanks for the tour.
Hi Nick. Love the headboard design above the bed. Not sure about the coffin shaped window on deck, do like the colour scheme though. Looking goooood for summer boating.
Nice! Not sure of the logic of having the barbecue inside the boat! I’d be a bit non-plus’d to be driving the boat with someone griddling their kippers (ooh-err missus) behind my left ear.
This one was really nice since it feels so versatile. It also did'nt look cramped but very thought out in the layout. Never heard of this brand before either but it is always nice to see what the smaller manufacturers have on offer. 😊
Lovely vessel and a great review but for me it is sacraledge not to have the fly bridge model. Stunning UK weather about to break tomorrow! Best Wishes..
For a 42-foot boat I thought the VIP was very nice, and that enormous skylight may have made it the master, if not for the fact that there was no real ensuite. That said, the dayhead was nearby and very accessible. It was very nearly like having 2 master cabins on this boat, and considering the nicely appointed galley, dinette, and upper deck, the overall accommodations were very comfortable and inviting. I did like that the upper deck was all teak and had so many opening windows connecting it to the outside - it was like having a salon and a flybridge all in one almost, very practical and fun. This would make a great intermediate yacht for someone who's considering a bigger model down the line, but wants to really test out Galeon before they commit to a bigger purchase IMO.
Thankful for your videos again, Nick....living near Minneapolis it's been a rough week. It's nice to finally watch something on UA-cam other than your city burning.
I enjoyed the view from the underside. The bathroom in the master is doable, I really don't like wet baths, but this works. You did not say what year. Also did this have a tender and a jet ski? What size tender would fit? Amazing how well kept up the cushions are. Really love the back window folding up.
What a really appealing boat, such great use of space and that galley area is lovely! Love the colour schemes too, not too clinical but contemporary. Great tour Nick!
The seat at the rear of the boat, doesn’t the rear pad slide backwards (extending over the garage door) and the backrest folds down as an insert to create a larger sun pad?
i personally prefer entry-level boats than the superyachts because its so cool how they fit the quality furniture in the interior.
@R A neither will you.
It's safe to say that you and your mother don't get along.
Also with these huge super yachts you can’t take them out as often - made for enjoyment not sitting around and not getting used.
Agreed, superyachts are cool but imagine actually having to run one, more crew than actual passengers it seems, like running a small business, nothing leisurely or intimate about it.
I’d keep it outside my house and get the sprogs to make sea noises would save on fuel and boat ware
You know what I like about your videos is that there are no bells n' whistles. Just down to talk about the boat in simple terms, if you use jargon, then you always explain. Quite like this boat, although not sure on the placement of grill.
Yes - you'd want a fair wind whistling through the boat to use that grill...
Agree. No endless rant about blah blah blah. Best boat reviewer on YT, by far
As far as I know, Galeon are pretty customisable. They certainly are on their bigger boats - so you should be able to replace the griddle with a TV unit or whatever.

The front cabin is so bright because of that big glass. I like it.
Yes but will the glass take a good wave over the bow?

Absolutely right - if it floats, it's a boat!
It's all about that lovely lower deck with the little table up the corner. Also that skylight in the front cabin. What a gorgeous little boat.
