@@GG_WepretGak juga njir, sok tau lu, gw nonton jackie chan ori suara original, bahasa cantonese. Dulu sebelum era gusdur box office hongkong dan cina tiap hari kamis semuanya pake suara original, ga ada pake dubbing. Sampe skarang gw juga lebih suka nonton semua film pake suara original nya.
Yea, why most people watched this in dub? Like, did they allergic to foreign language or something?

Iko Uwais doesn't practice kickboxing, he is an expert in a style of Silat, I've heard his grandfather created the style he uses. Silat is a variety of styles actually, it's Indonesian national martial art.
The sequel is even more insane...a must watch!
this movie had the most realistic fight scenes in movie history, I still get chills to this very day when I watch both movies
My mate recently got me into Blu-rays. One of the first franchises I had to get, was the Raid & Raid 2 as a set. It's GLORIOUS. There's two versions of the first movie too; a TV edit, and an uncut edit. I'd also suggest watching in it's original Indonesian audio, and subtitles. It's just a personal thing. I'd ALWAYS choose the original audio and subtitles when watching a non-English movie. I want to hear the actors.

wow I didn't expect this, one of my favourite movies, this is going to be a fun watch, and I love Dasha reactions.
Fun fact: Originally the director wanted to film the story of the second Raid but he needed sime money for that comlicared criminal movie. So he wrote the script for the Orifinal Raid and it blasted.
The martial arts in this movie was insane!!! So good.
Fun reaction as always! I do believe the martial arts shown is mainly penchak silat. Not kickboxing, tho they might have incorporated elements?
I tried to help build the main ideas contained in the film:
1. The average Indonesian man does not produce a thick voice, even though it is deep, indicating that he has sharp vision
2. Slum or criminal areas have cheaper apartment rents making it easier for criminals and ordinary citizens with low economic conditions to rent
3. Not all police transport vehicles are bulletproof, especially the older versions, bulletproof vehicles are usually for more specific crews
4. There are several levels and types of special forces, tactical clothing for goggles, none of which are bulletproof, Each level of special forces must have bare-hand martial arts, the higher the level of Special forces team the higher the level of martial arts, this helps in silent missions
5. The average martial art studied by the police and military is silat, but other types are also studied
6. Silat is not only studied by the police or military, this martial art is studied by civilians because of the strict use of firearms in Indonesia
7. The Raid 1 & 2 received the highest positive appreciation from film critics in the US, because the cinematography and choreography finally changed the standards of world action films.
8. Gareth Evan, Falling in love with silat when making a documentary film, then including the message of silat in the film, that's why there is a lot of martial arts in the film's plot, as well as in the Raid 2 which has constant martial combat. The Raid 2 is the climax because it was from the Raid 1 that the Raid 2 became more exciting, but at the beginning the idea for the Raid 2 became the first idea due to lack of funds, The Raid 1 was created and made into a film first
9. Almost all of the cast members have martial arts knowledge, and they have built strong relationships between the crew,
10. In the Raid 2 final fight Rama / Yuda (Iko Uwais) was supposed to fight against Mad dog / Prakoso (Yayan Ruhian) but because Mad Dog died in the Raid 1, he was replaced by Cecep Arif Rahman(the assassin),
Nb : Irfan (2018) is a student who has martial arts knowledge who succeeded in defending himself against 2 robbers, one of whom died on the spot from his own weapon, in many cases boys or men in Indonesia managed to defeat robbers who occurred on the road, some of the robbers even died on the spot,Not only robbers, there are even frequent clashes between two people or groups, such as Carok(a term for Madurese martial arts that often occurs until one of them dies, because of trivial things such as insulting each other and so on until a fight continues)

Dasha you liked the Great Film " LEON " well here is a similar film but its a woman and a boy the film is " Gloria " The original version 1980 starring Gena Rowlands. Seriously check this film out you will love it.

I just subscribed I love martial arts I trained in Taekwondo, Karate, and Judo and currently I'm training in Silat because of this movie.

If you're serious about martial arts, I recommend a combination of fighting; boxing, taekwondo, and jujitsu. The form of martial arts in this film is muay thai, which involves the elbows and knees. Keep in mind, studying martial arts doesn't mean you need to become a master of any ONE style it's just a skill for self defense

4) Yayan (MadDog) once trained somekind of Indonesian special force
5) The raid 2 is the intended film, to prove they can make such & get the fund, they make raid 1 first

For men, yes. For women, no. Men and women are built differently.
Well, women have (on average) wider hips and bigger bottoms than men, but the issue is more lower back and pelvis flexibility, which women usually have more of than men. I don't see why a woman couldn't do that provided her hands can get past the hip bones - and that might be more to do with how close together the wrists are ie handcuffs vs zipties. If a man had crossed wrists instead of side-by-side wrists, he couldn't do it either.

Dasha, if you're inspired to learn martial arts after this, you're gonna want to select the right one for you. There's a world of difference between martial arts aimed at sports, fitness, or competition, and those aimed at practical self-defence. Each country has a special / elite forces, who are trained in their equivalent of Krav Maga. Krav Maga was created by Israel for their special forces.
There's different levels of Krav Maga; the civilian one, which is the only level taught to regular people. It's about trying to get AWAY from a fight. There's a Law Enforcement level where they are expected to go TOWARDS a fight, and SUBDUE the fighters. There's Air Marshall level, where it's all VERY tight spaces. There's the full-on Battlefield level, where you can't take any chances. It's a mindset, an instinct on how to read the world around you, and the possibility of turning ANYTHING into a weapon, along with the reactions and training to stay alert.
Plenty of martial arts movies make it look realistic that sports/fitness / competition arts are capable of self-defence. They're not. You're prepared to face other competitors, with rules. If you're in a real fight, there are no rules, other than "do what you need to, to end the fight ASAP, and only while there's a threat".
and yet, all these krav maga people would get their asses handed to them by the FMA.. kali / arnis / eskrima, unlike krav maga they are actually meant to do serious damage..

True, although them doing martial arts wouldn’t really fit the tone of Star Wars. If they did they probably would have cut each action every 2,3 seconds as Hollywood tends to do.

Please react to the sequel as well, they wanted to do the sequel first but couldn't afford it so they made up this one on a low budget. People loved it so they got enough money to make the movie the originally wanted which is now known as the raid 2.
