  • The space industry has entered an era of competition and collaboration among private companies. There are new prospects in the global space industry as the opportunities for space exploration have been expanded, due to revolutionary advancements in launch vehicle technology. It is no longer about how we would set out into space, but rather about how we would view and develop space from a commercial perspective.
Especially, low Earth orbit (LEO) not only holds geopolitical significance as a strategic point for national security, but also serves as a stepping stone for deep space exploration. The development of LEO becomes crucial as future space exploration, such as NASA’s Artemis lunar missions and Mars exploration, is enhanced.
In this session, together with the pioneers of the private space industry, we will look into the ongoing projects based on the International Space Station (ISS), located in LEO. We will also discuss the potential opportunities that could rise along with the deorbit of ISS in 2030. The discussion includes the executives of Axiom Space (Kam Ghaffarian, Michael Suffredini, Tejpaul Bhatia), which is planning to construct the first private space station under NASA’s support, John Shoffner, a civilian astronaut that recently traveled to ISS aboard SpaceX’s Crew Dragon in May, and Jay Kim, the Chairman and CEO of Boryung. #space #axiomspace #iss
