I'm sitting here fidgeting with the original Highball right now. It is my favorite Kershaw to date. Took a bit to get used to fuller deployment but one of my more preferred now. Like the deep carry clip a lot better than the original.
$33 at Blade HQ right now. Got one on the way. I really love my Kershaw Iridium. I usually prefer a drop point, even on my Buck 110, but this clip point speaks to me.
Man I was immediately drawn to this when it launched. I LOVE the silhouette...super clean, great blade shape. The implementation of the lock bar plate is AWESOME! This really looks like a Kershaw worth purchasing! Great video man!
The Westin is one of my favorite budget friendly knives! Havent handled the XL but the Highball is a pretty solid knife overall! Great review brother!!

Left mine in the basement and came back to find it rusted. Used some Flitz to take the spots off and it’s back to brand new! Definitely not a massive fan of D2 but honestly that’s down to my own negligence.
Ha! Yeah I've been known to forget a knife or two in the yard of garage from time to time with some rusty results. Like you said, usually cleans up pretty easily though. D2 has its pros and cons for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting.
An interesting & compelling knife for sure. I also am really annoyed by Kershaw's strange compulsion of having an assist on so many knives which would have been a definite pickup if they were manual. It works for some models, but most of the time it just ruins a good design. The only Kershaw that's held a spot in my collection long-term is the Wild Wild Turkey (I believe that's the correct name for the wild turkey liner lock with titanium handle).

Not that I owe you ANY explanation for MY opinion but right off the top of my head there is the Asher Knife Co. ! I ordered 1 of their Asher ''Classic'' knives last week /received it this week ! Its a modern ''Barlow'' pattern knife, FULL titanium frame lock ,steel lock bar insert on bearings /the whole 9 ! I spoke to the Owner Justin through Instagram after ordering the knife [last week] offered to pay for some extra flat screws for the knife to go with my order, he refused and personally found my parcel before it shipped and INCLUDED the extra hardware I requested FREE with my order ! It cost 45 bucks shipped to my door ! The customer service , the quality ,the material the design etc are ALL superior to Kershaw in EVERY aspect by leaps & bounds and that's NOT an ''opinion''' its a FACT !
Bead-blast is the worst possible finish on a blade, especially something like D2. Kershaw seems to be doing a lot of bead-blasted finishes on their new releases. thekershawstore has this one for $47 now. Also Knifeworks has good prices on Kershaw and CRKT.
Beadblasted & D2? Wouldn't that make it highly susceptible to rust? Beadblasted is a cheap finish that creates a lot of pores/surfaces area that moisture can latch on to, and because D2 holds a better edge (higher carbon) it'll be more succeptible to rust (less chromium). Reminds me of the CRKT M16's that are notorious for rusting with AUS8 + beadblasted. And AUS8 is more rust resistant than D2. In choosing D2, Kershaw should have definitely not gone the cheap beadblasted route.
