You might find your arch is tontall to attach a tow line to. You don't want to tow from much higher than the top of your motor cowl. Maybe you could build a detachable towing bit that you can remove to lift the motor if you have trouble. Being that tall will lever your bow up causing it to swing side to side. On the welding, my friend shots a bit of argon into the vent holes before he starts welding. I don't know much about it but his welds are beautiful. I guess it purges the oxygen out so as not to effect the shielding on the outside.
Yeah its like clothes oh I wear an XL i will buy an XL, but in this brand I need a L and and that brand I'm an XXLT. Argon is heavier than air so I wouldnt be surprised if there was compressed air in the bottle mixed with the argon at the top so when you got to the end you wernt getting much if any actual shielding from whatever flow you were getting.
@@findingsimon air has a weight around 8g/mol argon is 18g/mol. That is one of the 2 reasons it works so well as a shielding gas it literally pools and sinks, the second reason it is very non reactive due to the full electron shell (like an introverted hermit it just wants to hide and not make friends)
Now that you have publish a video of picking up that feather, please make sure you do the research not to get in trouble for it. That orange is awesomely visible.
Simon, You came to BC to look at the unfinished home made catamaran Which you bought & now live in. You havent mentioned the cats builder in quite some time. Is he still out & about? Or... !
Instead of cleaning carbs, had you thought about using fuel filters? Or clean fuel? Or both? And why do you need more horsepower for your dingy than for your boat?
Good episode, reminded me of the good ol'days when you worked on your boat.
It's like the pickup truck of dinghies. I love it.
Yeah, works like a pickup truck. I feel like I can’t fit anything more on it without losing my pickup truck goodness.
That looks mad fun. Stoked for you mate.
Simon You got a million dollar idea with those fenders.
Ya think? I like em
You could embroider names, logos, designs, whatever on those fenders. I think it would be a great niche.

I miss your boat.
Simon, a very nice additional pieces of kit for the Dingy/runabout.
Good on you, lad and Cheers, Mate
Put the vent holes inside the uprights and through the base, if you ever Tig weld it will stop the blow outs and you won’t see the holes
Lift up the engine on the transom to stop the engine from spraying water everywhere.
The music was too loud ❤❤❤
👍👌👏 Way too loud and therefore annoying. Quite unnecessary too!
Best regards, luck and health in particular.
Great vid. So YOU didn't take a measuring tape with you when you went to purchase ? Regards Alan
Do you think they deliberately made the ramp 2 feet too narrow for your boat on purpose?

Didn’t know Argon was heavier. But my gauge is definitely shit, found a way to adjust it and zero it out.

Illegal for a non-native American to possess an eagle feather. Even Forrest Gump knows that. Or are you in Canada?
