Back in 80,s there were very few that surfed shark island especially on big days we used to surf the left of the island then ugraded to the back so narly when u see the suction man u got to have balls to take off butt once you get over the take off its amazing my cousins used to boogie board it up to six foot still a mean barrel pleny of urchins on the island you need a steamer and bootys mad bro
Yep. Grew up surfing shoes, Shelly beach, windy point and mini pipe. We only used to surf the lefts at the island. Rights were not surfed much early 80s.
This is one of those waves when watching you find yourself leaning and twisting like you are going to help the guy come out of the last pinching section.
fantastic edit! That angle was worth the hike. Max's no hander backside shack was the highlight, but the spongers layed it down in both sessions, pun intended.
He moved from Uladulla to Pambula last i heard..Closer to the snow and Dulla got too crowded he said...Still shaping world class surfboards and all sorts of fish.
Yeah sure Timbo but you don't surf yourself and it's not called "Ours". Th original surfers called it Pikers Hole but then no-one rode it for many decades. The Maroubra guys called it Ours, but that's bullshit and it was only the jet ski era which opened it to them. Cape Solander isn't technically correct either, that is further around, but it will do for a name.
Best angle from the snake track, insane waves, great surfing, mean sounds,, thank you!
Such a steep takeoff, mad props to all these great surfers 🤙🏼
