As someone who uses norma earphones in the jacuzzi (not underwater but very moist) I can tell you that sound is because your ears are wet (from the inside). I dont know if it is because the sound gets blocked or deformed but even if you move the earphones a little you get beter/different sound.

The high sound in caused by the active noise cancelling. The Active noise cancelling tries to revert the sounds it picks up in the world and manipulate your ears. The water is probably, most definitely in that microphone what makes the sound go back to the world and microphone really fast, which means a high hertz sound.

So everyone here is testing the ear things BUT I ACCIDENTALLY TESTED THE CHARGING CASE 😂 ... I accidentally put them in a cup of water for the whole night thinking I put them in this one bucket I put my stuff in ... woke up AirPod case literally in the water 😐🤧😂 fortunately the actual air pods weren’t in their but the case still worked after a whole night in water 💦 this is a professional review and I am the test subject 💯😂

The ring sounds happens when the mems microphone for ANC. When the microphone grill is wet and filled, it would ring. As far as my experience goes, sony's ANCs do not and have ai control instead of basic analog control.

That is not a waterproofing issue that is a Bluetooth issue.
The reason is that water severely blocks radio waves, there is no getting around that. Any wireless device, no matter how water proof, will have connectivity issues when being submerged underwater, it is just the laws of physics.

That high pitched noise is normal for transparency mode. If you touch them wrong, or anything touches the microphone while they’re in transparency mode, it’ll make that high pitched sound. Even picking them up off of a desk or something will make it

The pitch sound that is playing is to get the liquid out. The pitchy sound frequency is also used to get water out off iPhone speakers.

my old normal airpods and case went in a 60minute session in a pucket into the washing machine this summer. They stil work fine.
the high pitch sound is the pressure valve trying to rebalance pressure inside the earphone, i also hear that high pitched sound when i put them on my ear but not that loud to be annoyed or something lol

Apple has clearly stated AirPod pros are water resistant, which means very little moisture like sweat. They are not water proof let alone immersing in water! They even recommend not wearing them in the rain
