Because of the carelessness of this situation, the owner's insurance company (gap) may not honor his coverage. The car is totaled and his cousin probably wasn't on his insurance eighter. Some drivers try to scam the insurance companies to get another car when they no longer want the one they have. 🤔

That shit is an insurance fraud. Gap insurance+car totalled insurance pay off= new car practically paid for. They were both in on it. Hes walking with about 12-15 grand. Not too shabby paying 5-7 grand for a new car.

Jeeps are still probably the best for going off road but this is a grand and look at those tires too. Also it's not really meant for wet sand . Probably not even trail rated either. Whoever did that is just dumb.

An all wheel drive Jeep got stuck in the sand that barely covers the tires....pathetic vehicle and really stupid drivers.
Any vehicle can get stuck in sand. Driving in sand takes skill. If you don't know what you're doing then you can easily get stuck. Airing down, making sure you know how to use the 4WD system and maintaining momentum are key. Even more important is understanding the condition of the terrain. These are all things that the driver appears to have neglected. Parking a vehicle on saturated wet sand in the face of rising water pretty much guarantees the vehicle will get mired. Still there are various ways to get unstuck depending on how wet and saturated the sand was. This includes things like placing the floor mats under the tires which it does not appear like the driver had the wherewithal to attempt.

Yeah. Stock tyres on Grand Cherokees generally suck for offroading... especially ones spec'd for any trim except the Trailhawk versions. The first thing I do with a new Jeep is swing on over to the tyre dealership for new sets of shoes.
