- The transmission was misbehaving, but no transmission fault light yet. The fluid was changed approximately 40,000 miles in the past. It was time for a change, and I decided to film it this time. I hope you are educated by this video enough to attempt it yourself. Take it slow and follow the most important step: ensure you are able to remove the “fill” bolt prior to starting the procedure!

GREAT VIDEO BROTHER....ITS FUNNY I JUST CHANGED THE TRANNY FLUID ON MY 2006 HONDA PILOT TOURING 2 WEEKS AGO....I LOVE THIS TRUCK AND BLESSED BY THE LORD WHEN I GOT IT IN A CAR AUCTION 2 YEARS AGO....IT ONLY HAS 85,000 MILES AND ITS FULLY LOADED...OVERHEAD BLU RAY DVD PLAYER...ALL WHEEL DRIVE....REAR CAMERA...NAVIGATION....THE ONLY THING I SPENT SO FAR ON THIS IS NEW ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS....AND BLOWER RESISTOR FUSE FOR THE REAR PASSENGER A/ C...I FOUND OUT YOU NEED TO CLEAN OUT THE MESH FILTER EVERY 3 MONTHS WITH A VACUUM....DRIVES LIKE A DREAM...8 PASSENGERS...SO USEFUL AND RELIABLE....BY THE WAY...THIS PILOT CAME ALSO FROM A TEXAS CAR DEALER IT HAD TEXAS PLATES....LOL...IM FROM CALIFORNIA....LOVE YOUR CHANNEL....

thanks. Some good details and ideas here that other videos didn't offer. I haven't been able to break the filler plug lose yet. Buying a bigger breaker bar.
That’s the key. I would use a hex socket over a 12-point due to the torque required to break it loose.
Excellent video! Get a half-inch breaker bar with half-inch extensions.They are very hard to break.
That’s how I got the fill plug off. 1/2” drive breaker and extension. I thought it was part of the video
Did the MaxLife help you transmission issue? I know it’s synthetic and Honda’s is not, so I’m wondering if that made a positive difference
It did. I drove the Pilot another 8years/120,000 miles after the tranny initially started shifting rough. Every 2 years I would change the burnt fluid out for fresh stuff. Tranny finally died last year at 280,000 miles.
