HDMI to component or VGA adapter, and could you list if recommended?

In this case I’m using the Portta HDMI to VGA converter and the Kramer VGA/XGA to RGBHV Converter VP-100 because I’m using the RGBS input of my PVM (BNC connectors). But I have used several adapters/converters. I will publish a simple solution I found for HDMI to component, readily available. Spoiler: cheap HDMI2VGA adapter plus AliExpress’ “Bitfunx RGBS VGA to YPBPR Component Converter SCART to YPBPR YCBCR For Retro Game Consoles”. I’m testing them today.

@@jfroco My only concern would be latency due to all the conversions.

@ latency due to conversions is zero (just a few ns, probably): no buffers, no upscaling, no downscaling, no waiting for anything at all, just simple and pure realtime transcoding.

Are you using composite out or an RGB Hat? RPI4 or RPI5?

@@anthonymeo8119 this is an Atari VCS - an Atari branded mini PC based on an AMD Ryzen APU, and I’m using the HDMI port directly. I did the same with the RPI Zero 2 W, and it should work on RPI4/5 but I haven’t tested it, here’s the procedure for RPIZ2W: github.com/jfroco/rpizero_lakka_crt
