I will never forget the night my best friend's dad to us to see the newly unearthed Mystery of the Wax Museum in a modern art museum and on a school night!! Forbidden horror fruit and it tasted great. This discussion is fantastic as well. Thank you SO MUCH for posting this and the others. I'll be a regular.
I always enjoyed this movie and particularly the performances of Atwill and Carewe, "Professor Darcy." The numerous scenes with silly banter between Glenda Farrell and her grumpy, whiny newspaper editor boss could've been cut back, but this was shortly after the introduction of talking pictures and having screen characters speaking just to speak was common. Thank you for the upload.
As much as I love House of Wax and had the pleasure of telling Vincent Price himself, I absolutely adore Mystery of the Wax Mueum more. Mainly because of Atwill but also because of Glenda Farrell and Frank McHugh who are infinitely more interesting and funny than the second leads in the 1953 version. I've said it before but David Del Valle is a treasure and yes, please do Murders in the Zoo, a fabulous pre code horror!
One of the great Pre-Code horrors! Lionel Atwill was always tremendous.

He’s up there with Karloff and Lugosi to me.
