Hello! Thank you! This S210 has modified transmission software, exactly what is modified I'm not sure. The fueling is done with a mechanical pump, so the tuning is done physically! The 420 CDI shows some signs of age, that I will need to look over. Worn generator, and sticking VGT vanes. On the whole, it is running perfectly!
It is a full custom turbo-back exhaust. Cat is deleted, and there are two after-market mufflers. One very large in the middle, and then a small one before the tailpipe. I think they are both straight-through absorptive type. The owner is planning to straight pipe it!
First of all, you need to distinguish between the pre-facelift and the facelift W211. The pre-facelift 280/320 CDI both use the OM648 in-line 6, while the facelift 280/320 CDI both uses the OM642 V6. The pre-facelift is the more popular option, being more reliable. If you compare the 280 and 320 from the same facelift generation, there are basically no differences, hardware-wise. I've read somewhere that they have different injectors, but can't confirm. Long story short: 280 CDI and 320 CDI are the same. Different software tuning from factory.

Just remove the wastegate 👌 No need for wastegate. No guts, No glory 🏁 I have been driving mine since 2017 with no wastegate. Boosting between 3 and 3,4 bar. But it's important that the mileage is high enough before high boost. Mine has 590.000 km now, and still not opened.

Probably on par with the 420 CDI, when it has finished spooling! The turbo lag is severe 😅 But it's also nice, in a way
