The way she plays in nodame cantabile has a context. You need to watch previous episodes so you can understand why she played it that way and why he says what he says. But I haven’t watched most of these! So now I have new ones to watch! Thank you!
@@greenrosebluebird Going to respectfully disagree, mate. Blind anime reactions are becoming more common, especially as fans of channels request raw reactions to anime related to their channel. I don't know whether your warning is for anime videos in the future, but I think his criticisms were very honest and polite in this video.
@7:35 funny you say that😂 The guy playing piano in that clip of "kids on a slope" (the English title for it) is also a classically trained pianist. Throughout the show it shows him learning jazz to get close to a girl lol
I hope you guve Nodame a chance. There's a reason why she's playing it like that. But if you watch the Rach 2 while the guy (Chiaki) is playing piano with orchestra. Ive been rewatching all Nodame Cantabile animes and live actions since 2008. I keep one repeating watching every year.
La Corda D' Oro is one of the anime that got me interested in listening to classical music. I love the music choices. I also ended up learning how to play the clarinet and one of the characters do play clarinet.
For who's interested: Story wise, "Nodame Cantabile" is a very good anime and manga, it has been among the most sold manga and anime in Japan for several years and for a reason. It's light but it's very entertaining, a plethora of funny charactes and deep perspectives, it's also probably the first classical music themed manga and anime around. "Sakamichi no Apollon" is a very good anime, more stylish and elegant also animation-wise, more of a aesthetic coming-of-age-story. I've always found "Carole and Tuesday" a bit canned and forced, despite the good animation. "You lie in April" falls a tad too much in the category of young sentimental kind of story, so I'm probably not the right audience for it.
I also recommend giving Nodame Cantabile a *real* Chance. 😉 It's honestly worth it. I watched, some many Years ago, the very first Season of it and was immediately hooked and right-away bingewatched all three Seasons (+ Extra Content ) of it! Basically it's a Love-Story between Chiaki, who's a great Pianist, but wants to become an Conductor, who can't leave Japan because of his Fear for Planes and Megumi Noda (aka NoDame) who is also a great Pianist, but hides her Fear of becoming a Professional, because of an Incident in the Past. They both slowly slowly melt their Fears and overcome their Struggles, get together as an odd Couple and the Viewers get presented with a funny, heartwarming, musical and dramatical Story from Beginning to the End. It's seriously worth it. In Terms of Music-Genre in Anime, it's a *Must-Watch* 😉 PS: Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto nr.02 op18 is nowadays my most liked Classical-Piece because of that Anime. Chiaki plays it and it sounds frikkin awesome! Unfortunately, i couldn't find any Anime-Content on UA-cam to show you. Bummer....😞
Completely agree. Nodame Cantabile is one of my all-time favourite anime, it is so,SO well done. Both for it's musical accuracy as well as it's actual story, it's unmissable.
Just to add context to everyone raving about Nodame. Do note that Jp VC for Nodame, Ayako Kawasumi has been playing piano since age of 3, and some of the tracks in Nodame OST is played by herself and she played some on live concert too. 2002 rom com(?) "PIANO" is pretty much built around the fact that Kawasumi-san is a piano player (she composed couple of pieces for OST too)
I cry in concerts but for a different reason. My daughter sang with Gwinnett Young Singers, who sang with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra as their Children's choir, from time to time. They did a few concerts with them a year with them. Anyways, she passed away during appendicitis surgery when she was visiting in Hong Kong when she was 16. So, I love going to concerts, it is just a memory for me, though. I am usually the one who falls asleep in concerts, so I sit back around row MM, so I don't disturb anyone. Classical musical is so relaxing.
Sakamichi no Apollon made my hair stands up . Is my all time favorite.Because of its very High quality animation, work overall I agree with his rating on this . It’s inspired me since Jazz is totally different genre and very difficult. You have to have the piano skill and the improvisation skills.
Kids on the slope! Hellz yeah. Same director as Carole and Tuesday. And... Cowboy Bebop. Sure, they didn't play any music on screen, except during Jupiter Jazz, but music is such a huge part of the show that it's integral. It's Bebop, baby.
Amazing video. The first two animes you fell in love and cry like a baby not only by the music the background story touch you harder. Piano no mori (the forest of piano) makes me enjoy at higher level Chopin's pieces because the intro of that Anime is waterfall. Give a chance to those animes you'll really enjoy them.
Nodame cantabile is an older anime so it could be that the animation couldn't keep up yet with the playing, but the story is so good. I've watched all of the anime you shown and i would recommend them all.
Not giving Nodame Cantabile a 100 out of 10 is crazy it's the best anime ever and the animation is most often better than any other music related anime 😳
No way! it's you from that famous Barenboim masterclass! Where you say you play it loud because you like it I am surprised I haven't stumbled upon your channel earlier :D
It is not a piano anime, but it is an amazing music anime: "Kono oto Tomare!" It is about teenager learning to play Koto, to try to keep the school team alive. They want to compete in the nationals and show what they can do, even though most of them have never played a koto before. It is a great anime that just makes you passionate about music and friendship
Your lie in April is for sure one of the best animes ever made and without a doubt the best music themed one. So, I would recommend to give it more light next time. It went through it so fast.
You may want to do UA-cam collaboration with another pianist creator called Charles Cornell. He's a jazz pianist - usually brakes up harmonies of piecies that he investigates
I cry listening music in youtube. Concerts with noisy people don't affect me too much. Concerts with quiet, respectful audiences yes, often make me cry.
Great video!!! Now that you are slowly getting pulled to anime piano, i think it would be a great idea for you to react to imo the best anime composer/pianist Animenz. He self-composes songs from many anime and you can really tell he came from a classical background. This one is the one that had impressed me the most ua-cam.com/video/TyjgGSTA0QQ/v-deo.htmlsi=bWZilbUE7ALiLFXp And this is i think his most famous one ua-cam.com/video/sEQf5lcnj_o/v-deo.htmlsi=8Z7GFK4i_lSq70Uh Enjoy!!!
FYI, strings breaking on a stringed instrument is a classical East Asian trope/plot device in novels and literature referring to a disruption of concentration in the mind of the player, via external distraction or being mentally disturbed by something.
The funny thing of you saying that you don't play Jazz as a classical pianist for the last one considering that the premise of the show is a classical pianist learning to express himself through Jazz.
Love Nodame Cantabile, 100% recommend it. Also nothing to do with piano but an amazing anime in general is One Piece, since you are entering the world of anime I also recommend it. If you think it has too many episodes you can watch the fan edited page One Pace
Only 8 for Nodame because she's playing too fast? Talking about having cero context. You should at least have a tiny idea what the anime is about before judging.
Can never listen to Chopin Ballade No 1 again the same way since Your Lie In April. Also Liebesleid by Kreisler. I think both were done really well.
SAMEEEEEEEE
I love ballade no 1 a lot, after your lie in april I love it MORE
real

Did not know that! Will watch the rest!
Please try not to criticize any scenes of anime without knowing the story!

sakamichi no apollon's medley is probably my favorite jazz piece in all of anime

I don’t typically cry in concert, but last time I heard the most beautiful trumpet sound in a concert and tears were just rolling down my face

A BIG YES
I love your commentary! you had me laughing quite a few times, you called out so many things that I was thinking that it just made me laugh
Nodame cantabile is an anime to watch absolutly (the others as well) And the way they play Rachmaninov so fast there is a reason 😊
Now, it’s time for you to react to Animenz 😊
The anime music pianists out there are amazing. I love Fonzi M, he did the entire Your Lie In April Soundtrack.
Kids on the slope! Hellz yeah. Same director as Carole and Tuesday. And... Cowboy Bebop. Sure, they didn't play any music on screen, except during Jupiter Jazz, but music is such a huge part of the show that it's integral. It's Bebop, baby.

Subscribed Sir! Great start up content!

This is great! Would absolutely love for your videos to dive down the rabbit hole of anime piano compositions. I’m sure you’ve heard of animenz :D
You should watch 'your lie in April ' . Highly recommend.
I believe there is an amazing jazz session is gundam thunderbolt!
Ray's video brought me here and became your subscriber!
Have you watched "Forest of Piano?" Particularly the second season Chopan festival.
First season ends tragically. Second season, heroically.
Your lie in april (original Japanese title 四月は君の嘘 : Shigatsu wa kimi no uso) was also highly praised by TwoSetViolin for the animated violin play.
If you are going to do another episode, I would recommend looking at blue giant, another jazz one but some amazing piano solos
It is not a piano anime, but it is an amazing music anime: "Kono oto Tomare!" It is about teenager learning to play Koto, to try to keep the school team alive. I agree, I think he'd like that too
Vous devriez vraiment regarder Your Lie in April, par contre préparez le stock de mouchoirs. 😅

Your lie in april is the best anime of classic music
The ad break on your lie in April is smart xD
i've been listening to classical music playlist like "classical for gentlemen", "classic if you are villain" 🤣 etc
Second movement from the moonlight sonata is my favorite among the three

Nodame Cantabile is a classic anime for anyone who like piano music.
Your lie in April is for sure one of the best animes ever made and without a doubt the best music themed one. So, I would recommend to give it more light next time. It went through it so fast.
Fantastic video! Really eye-opening! Fellow (occasional) concert crier here.
Oh YES! Thank you for watching more anime and react to it!!!!
I just saw you in Ray's video, like your collaboration👍
I love 'Kids on the Slope". Some other anime about music you might like: 'Kono Oto Tomare!', 'Blue Giant', and 'Given'.
You may want to do UA-cam collaboration with another pianist creator called Charles Cornell. He's a jazz pianist - usually brakes up harmonies of piecies that he investigates
Anime La Corda D'oro please!!!
Im telling you man give Your Lie in Apirl a watch and also react to its other performances its life changing trust me
I loved watching this! ❤
only ever cried during tragic operas, not instrumental music but i guess there's always a first time!
The rach 2 sounds a lot like Stephen Houghs recording. He takes it insanely fast but honestly it's one of my favorite recordings of all time.
"They're not lonely, they're together..."🤣
Why I have never seen this video I love it’s
Don't forget to check out video game music to. Final Fantasy 14 is a favorite of mine to listen to.
I ve cried a lot even not in the concert tho just a good record is enough!
Loved this 🎉

『坂道のアポロン KIDS ON THE SLOPE』の文化祭は、私の観た日本の商業アニメーション作品のなかでも、もっとも印象的な演奏シーンのひとつです。
Try unravel piano
Cool 🌺
i know you dont play violin but you should see this new anime its name is
Ao no Orchestra
Anime’s music is a real
PIANO NO MORI NATION RISE
のだめカンタービレ大好き😘
日本には第二次世界大戦直後(1945年)から米兵が多く駐留していた為に米国のジャズ文化が広まりました。
だから日本人はジャズを聴きなれた音楽として好ましく思っています。
My personal opinion
Watashi no uso: best classic anime
Sakamichi no apollon : best jazz anime
The funny thing of you saying that you don't play Jazz as a classical pianist for the last one considering that the premise of the show is a classical pianist learning to express himself through Jazz.
Your lie in April reaction please.
Love Nodame Cantabile, 100% recommend it. Also nothing to do with piano but an amazing anime in general is One Piece, since you are entering the world of anime I also recommend it. If you think it has too many episodes you can watch the fan edited page One Pace
Why is CID not here

Only 8 for Nodame because she's playing too fast? Talking about having cero context. You should at least have a tiny idea what the anime is about before judging.
