    Thanks to everyone for all the watches, likes and comments, I'm really glad so many of you have found some inspiration from this one. I really enjoyed building this one up over time. What did you all think of the night tour at the end? Is that a feature you would like me to stick with? What about tips and info? I'd love to hear from you all!

      Even though fallout 4 is pretty old, I def enjoy your seeing your vanilla builds, and they're pretty impressive considering you don't use mods. I heard about the family and business loss in your update vid, very sorry to hear and hope you can find some solace in making content that people really enjoy.
      Also one thing you mentioned in your update vid, don't worry about pumping out vids, post them when you feel you're ready. There's no point in stressing yourself to rush out vids since that would pretty much defeat the purpose of uploading and sharing your creations. I've seen plenty of small fallout 4 channels pump out vids and get burnt out, then just flat out quit, just because they came to hate it as they felt it was just a chore rather than a form of enjoyment.
      Anyways, good vid, and hope to see more king 😎

      @@CopeAndSeeth Thank you so much for your support and kind words. Seeing so many people enjoy the vids has been the best therapy anyone could have asked for.
      Very good advice also about avoiding burnout. I originally took the Abernathy vid down and completely redid the audio because I just wasn't happy with it. I put myself under too much pressure for sure. I'm one of those people who feels I could always have done it better.
      It's wonderful people like you that take the time to comment and support the channel that make all the hard work worthwhile.

    I've been building in Abernathy Farms this week, myself. Nice to see someone doing cool things with the same settlement, even all these years later. Love the RP-logic you put in to the builds, and how the builds are all sort of related to one another, as part of the same playthrough. Very cool. And I really enjoy your voice and narration. I have only been playing FO4 for coming up on 7 months, yes I have come to it late, and I am constantly amazed by the build videos produced by the community. Abernathy seems such a Daunting site to build. So it is great to see videos like this that inspire me to re-evaluate that thinking.

    • @FalloutPBC
      @FalloutPBC  2 роки тому +1

      First of all welcome to the game. Lots of my viewers have been new to the game. It seems to have had a revival after it was permanently added to Game Pass. It's great for the community to have so many new people coming into the game and bringing fresh energy.
      One of my favourite parts of having this channel is when people tell me I have inspired or helped them with their builds. It's always great to hear. So a big thank you for that.
      As for the daunting aspect of building it's worth remembering that all my builds are playthrough builds. Nothing was done specifically for youtube. I've gradually built these things up over a long playthrough dating back 7 years. So don't put too much pressure on yourself. Just do a bit here and there and you will be surprised how they tend to just naturally develop over time.
      In the new year, I'm hoping to have one big settlement tour a month on the channel and a series of smaller build videos looking at how to add interesting building shapes and ideas aimed at newer players.
      Once again welcome to the channel and thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

    Pretty cool layout for the place. Like how you use just the front end of the farm and block off the back end. Always been a fan of the concrete walls, no matter the terrain you can sink the pieces and make a level wall or foundation area. Very handy, I've done playthroughs with nothing but concrete build settlements. Definitely makes for a strong, fortified feel.
    Night tours are always pretty cool to throw in. Can highlight the nighttime defensive stance of a place. Not something you'ld really think about outside of a full playthrough build. Everything I build is in playthrough so I'm seeing and building the settlements at all hours of the day and night and adjusting things to play and look good at all times. It can make a subtle but big difference. Definitely keep that in your tours.

    • @FalloutPBC
      @FalloutPBC  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks! I know what you mean with the concrete walls, I am tempted to use them everywhere too. I've tried to mix in the curved pieces to break up the angles.

  • @Jeymez

    Abarnathy Farm is quite big, but being that it's a farm it makes sense why it can be somewhat difficult to build here.
    i think it's because both the front and back take up a large garden area, so you're almost forced to build outside of the farm area. so most of the time i just use Abarnathy as a supply line, since they already have food, all they need some defense and one or 3 extra settlers to be provisioners between Sunshine and Sanctuary, i use Red Rocket as a different supply line that i connect to Tenpines Bluff and Starlight.

    • @FalloutPBC
      @FalloutPBC  24 дні тому

      For me the big problem here is all the space is at the front and back and so little at the sides. It forces you to use the house to some degree, so this place always seems to end up as a backwater farm I barely visit passed the early game.
      It's also strange to me that they put two of the biggest vertical limits in farms.

    • @Jeymez
      @Jeymez 23 дні тому

      @@FalloutPBC which is why i mostly use it as a supply line, so in terms of build i don't do much beyond just trying to squeeze more beds in for two settlers i bring in to use as provisioners. maybe if Abarnathy's house was smaller, you can do more with the area, but it's a pretty big house, and not much you can do to change it or add to it.
      i think Abarnathy was meant to be a early tease, of how settlements we're going to be a thing in the game. but i don't mind helping them, because later on you can recruit Lucy as a Minuteman. now she don't legitimately become one, but she's the one person you'll be able to move later if you want.
      you just can't move them. but the catch is, you have to be General.

    This is nice but if you use the settlement spawn point finder and point your guns towards them you will never be attacked as all the enemies will be killed as they spawn they wont even take 3 steps!

    • @FalloutPBC
      @FalloutPBC  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks! But that play style just isn't for me.
      I love roleplay builds!
      I try to make settlements that make ( at least to me! lol ) some lore sense in the world.
      I do take note of the spawn points and the defensive positions at this settlement still melt any attack in seconds.
      I think it's possible to get a totally dominant defence and still maintain a logical lore-friendly build too.
      I know some people really love efficiency builds and I'm not criticising that play style at all. I think one of the best things about this game is the massive variety of play styles it supports.
