Hi, If you use a flat sheen stencil paint and don't overload your roller or brush, the paint dries very quickly. Maybe a few minutes at most. Just make sure to build up your color with thinner coats. This will give you crisper edges and the paint will dry quickly. Good luck!
Hi, Nope! You only need to clean the stencil when the openings get compromised with paint build up. When you stencil correctly, you use very little paint on your brush or roller and build up the paint coverage. If for some reason you do need to clean your stencil, put it in a bathtub or on a smooth surface and lightly scrub it with a dish brush, some water and a drop of soap. The thing is that as paints get better with adhesion, stencils become harder to clean.
Hi Yvette! Great question! We wanted the Coco Trellis stencil pattern to be perfectly in the middle of the wall so we could align it with whatever furniture we placed in the room.
Hi, You can still use a flat paint. Make sure your roller or brush is pretty dry and build up your paint coverage slowly because the semi gloss base coat won't absorb the stencil paint as fast and the stencil paint might dry more slowly. Good Luck!
Hi, If you trim the stencil too much there would be no bridge to hold the openings together. We provide a "Top Edge" stencil that she demonstrates here that leaves about a 1/4" space. If you really feel like it you can use an artist brush and finish the little gap but it's hard to see when you look at the entire wall. Good eye!

You're so welcome!
It look like fun
It is!
Hello! Do you not need to wait for the paint to dry before putting the stencil over top of the already painted portions?

Hi..did you have to clean the stencil between use? How did you clean.... if yes?

Hi I have that same stencil...is there a reason why she started in the middle? Thx

My base wall is semigloss, can I still use a flat paint or should I use a semigloss for the stencil as well?
Hi,
You can still use a flat paint. Make sure your roller or brush is pretty dry and build up your paint coverage slowly because the semi gloss base coat won't absorb the stencil paint as fast and the stencil paint might dry more slowly.
Good Luck!
Nice 👍
Thank you!! :)
How to repaint the wall later? Will I need to sand the wall first?
Hi, Just a quick light sanding and you're ready to go!
Would you be so kind to share the gray she used as an undertone.TIA😍
Hi,
Base color: Reflection Gray Sherwin Williams (flat sheen)
More info is in the description as well.
Good luck!
Do you have to wait for it to dry before placing the stencil back on it?
Hi,
If you use flat stencil paint on a flat base coat the paint dries so quickly that you really don't have to wait.

Super 👍👌
Thank you
Hi,
How long did it take you to stencil the entire wall? What size is your wall?
Hi,
It took about a day to stencil the wall. But if you are new to stenciling maybe give yourself the weekend.
Good Luck!
how often do you have to apply the tacky spray to the stencil
Hi, When it starts to lose its tack. Depending on what brand you use you can get maybe 5-10 repeats stenciled before needing to reapply.
Thanks!
Hi, what paint do you use?
Hi, We like Ben Moore Ben and Wise Owl 1 Hour Enamel. Artist acrylics also work well for stenciling.
Good Luck!
Super madam
Thank You!
does that also work on woodchip wallpaper? :-)
Hi! Depending on how textured your wood chip wall is, paint will seep under the stencil and cause the pattern to not have crisp lines.

How can we stencil a textured wall?
You should have trimmed that stencil so the design began at the very top of the wall as you decided a continuous pattern and the top is not done.
Hi,
If you trim the stencil too much there would be no bridge to hold the openings together. We provide a "Top Edge" stencil that she demonstrates here that leaves about a 1/4" space. If you really feel like it you can use an artist brush and finish the little gap but it's hard to see when you look at the entire wall.

Can you get a job just by doing this ?
Yes you can! There are many people that stencil for a living.
