- This was fun. Taking stock of myself… Looking and trying to paint what I see. Less freedom is good sometimes ?

“it’s an awesome feeling to see yourself in something other than yourself” !!!
Your acrylic work is super inspiring, Hannah. You push through moments where I'm clasping at my hair yelling, "too much! too much! stop!" but you keep going and keep going and it gets to a point where I say to myself, "dang! wow! she really pulled that together!!!" Your vibrating hues gives a really lively energy that is so pleasing to watch. We need more of these!!
I truly love how you articulate the inner working of how you paint!
I really love how u kept going at it and how there’s almost dozens of portraits on top of each other. I find that I get attached to the image pretty quickly so I don’t end up redoing it (on top of it) so it kinda ends up never getting there or smn
I just did 3 self portraits. I did them sitting front of the mirror. Omg it was hard. Each time my wife said “nice painting but it doesn’t look, like you”. My goal is to do them until someone tells it looks like me.
Two beauties - both you and your painting. Well done.
That also kinda how it works with other people: once I stop projecting ur inner workings, I can connect more deeply and truly see urself in them😊
This was helpful to me as I struggle with starting a portrait of my own
Under the theory that a fresh pair of eyes can see the forest for the trees - it looks to me like the upper lip is what is off a bit
Love it!
I like how you see and painted yourself
Excellent stuff!
Nice work! 👏👏
This is so interesting, insightful, exciting & kinda intimidating. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with self portraits. I’ve never done one. But I intend to at some point.😊
Thank you I appreciate that!
Self portrait is important but i think it's hard at the same time:)))
