Both the Timemore and the Kingrinder K2 are more expensive than the Q2 Air (the Air is $50USD) the K2 is about $80USD and the C3 is also around $80USD. I personally would say that the Q2 Air burrs (38mm 7 core Heptagonal) are better for Pour over because they produce a very nice flavour profile. However the K2 burrs are 48mm and will be slightly faster to grind, but they are 6 core burrs and wont give you such a nice flavour profile as the Q2 Air burrs. All grinders are very good for all brew types, However the Q2 Air and the Timemore are not as good as the K2 FOR proper Espresso (none pressurised). Technically the Air and the C3 can all be used for proper Espresso, but they have a very small grind range to play with (maybe just one number and any movement from that setting will be either too fast or block your machine). The K2 has 18 microns so its got quite a bit more grind range to play with for proper Espresso. Build quality, the K2 and the C3 are slightly better built than the Air (the C3 has an issue with the plastic lid breaking, the K2 also has a plastic lid that can break) but other than that they are both pretty solid grinders. The Air has a very solid plastic body sleeve and catch cup, they are both decent enough and i think that the only part that i would need to be careful with is the threads on both parts, i think that if anything can cause issues over time it might be the threads. However 1Zpresso do sell spare parts for these parts and they are very cheap to replace. The most important part of the grinder is the burrs and the burr shaft fitting and both of these are very good and solid. The plastic body is really just a sleeve and fits over the burr fitting, so it does not impact the performance, likewise the catch cup is the same, if you are careful while screwing these parts into the main metal body, you should never have any issues with them. I think that it depends on what you want to use the grinder for? If you just want a very cheap but very decent grinder with an excellent set of burrs for Espresso (basic pressurised) up to French press, the Air is very cheap. If you want slightly more grind adjustment for Espresso (none pressurised) the K2 is better. The C3 is similar to the Q2 Air, just slightly better built for double the price.
You should be able to order either directly from 1Zpresso or through a local 1Zpresso dealer in your country, so its worth checking both of those options out. I have a shipment arriving in a few days, so the Q2 Air is available for purchase, but i am situated in Malaysia.
I like the gray colour, must be suitable bring to travel ❤
Is this better than timemore c3 esp and kingrinder k2?
