Thanks for listening. It’s been fun making these and collaborating with other bird breeders. I’d you have other topics or suggestions for future episodes we’d love to hear them.

I breed Blue, and find they are weak, but have been more successful in keeping them alive when I soak my seed to create the sprouts, I include Solaminovit in the water I soak the seeds in.

Great info! If I ever get back into blue I’ll have to try that. We need Alex to get some blues and try to do that and get some stronger blood lines for us haha

Great episode. Loved the discussion. I started following Alex when you mentioned him in a previous podcast. Love the work he is doing. Makes me want to move somewhere warmer than Ohio to breed outdoors.

Yeah I hear you on that one. Wish we had
Some nice warm weather year round in Utah to be able to keep the birds outside all the time.

One step at a time! You have one of the best first time aviaries I’ve seen!

Enjoyed the conversation, great to see a young breeder like Alex, talking about his experience with Finches.
    GOULDIANS ARE POPULAR IN AUSTRALIA
Normal Gouldians sell for $AUD $50 a pair, and bred mostly in Aviaries

Love to hear that. We are still behind a little and trying to continue building our captive bred gouldians. Most of ours are still bred indoors and are not as hardy.

Paul, I’m very aware of your Gouldian prices and also very jealous! They’re going for 3x that amount here

Nice to see a guest great idea blue and yellow Gould 💙 in the late 70s and 80's would die if you just look at them to long today a different story they are breed for Quality, not quantity like The old days so that's the big difference now. My blue 💙 are great and my greens one's in a while to have to breed back to green to keep a strong blood line but the all colors are good to go now time has been good to Gould breeder. Just like other rare finches and the new blood line from Spain and Europe has helped us Tremendously today. Keep up the guest spot good Idea maybe one day I show up lol in breeding rare species.
