I’m with you on bags. It would be ideal to use reusable things all the time, however it’s not always realistic. Especially for working moms. Sometimes I choose my mental health over eco friendly. Lol
I am so glad to hear you talk about reusable bags! I’m with you on them. Drying them is a pain. Give me a zip top bag any day. Sorry environment. I’ll compost and combine my trips into one day to cut my carbon footprint.
I'll continue with disposable bags too. Time, water & soap use, I'll stick with them.
I used the reusable ones for bread products I freeze (pancakes, waffles, muffins, etc), because I totally agree on everything you guys have been saying!
Yup, the reusable bags aren’t perfect (yet). I pick and choose what I use them for - they’re fine for dry stuff, fruit, cheese but no way for meats and saucy stuff no way.
I’ve found something that works for us. I save our shredded cheese, tortilla bags, bread bags, and such in the door of our freezer and they’re perfect for freezing things later, like my homemade buns, homemade bread, maybe leftover spaghetti or sauce in a mozzarella bag, my homemade Mac n cheese that I freeze individual servings of in cheddar cheese bags. It saves some plastic with little effort and the thickness works great.
i turn them inside out and put them in the dishwasher, that has kept mine clear and fresh-smelling. it also makes drying easier because the inside is on the outside. but yes overall the reusable are much more of a pain than ziplocs. so far i'm ok with it though.
I am glad I am not the only one who washes out her zip top bags. I put baking soda and water in the bags to remove the tomato stains. It works pretty well. I also turn them upside down over things that stick up (my spoons and bottles by the sink) and keep the upside down for a day and all the water drips out. I also have something in my mudroom that organizes things on the wall and I put clips on it and clip them upside down for a day. Works well. I also do this with the silicone bags.
I use the green bag holder that people use for meal prepping to dry my reusable bags. They have to be completely open and turned upside down to dry the best.

Sams scan n go is sooo good the lines are always crazy!
I flip my reusable bags inside out to dry and then flip them back when they’re done. Never had a problem staining or holding odor, but I mostly use them for cheese or leftovers nothing with sauces.
Same! Got my Kitchen Aid in 2003 I believe, and it’s so wobbly. The metal piece in the centre that holds the 2 pieces together, wobbles its way out and I have to get my husband to shove it back in. 😂
Hi Jen, Thanks a lot! It's not like I haven't spent enough already - there you go showing me things that I didn't know I needed until now, lol. I've found that I have a love/hate relationship with this holiday. It's the time when, if I don't buy everything I think I need, my world is going to fall apart.😢Am I the only one here who feels this way? I swear that I love Christmas, but can't wait for it to be over at the same time.

Completely agree on the disposable bags. I have tried to reuse some that came with my vacuum sealer and they don’t work. For us moms that work full time and looking for convenience, this is a timesaver. Merry Christmas Jen to you and your family and thanks for all the content variety you provide throughout the year. 🎄

Enjoyed the Sam's Club video. It has been awhile. The closest one to me is an hour away so I never get there but love that you to showed us around. You fell into some good deals. Just over a week away and Christmas will be here. Having a private wrap party tomorrow to get the gifts wrapped up. Never have I been so late. Thinking a nice glass of wine and a cheese ball would be really good. Thanks for taking your time and energy to show us around while you are getting your stuff done. Those pineapples are amazing grilled. I brush them with Dale’s low sodium marinade then grill. So delicious

Jen those pineapple spears are the best! They went viral on tik tok last year because people were using them for tropical drinks. My Sams struggles to keep them in so I grab 3 when I see them. Delicious.

I love my kitchen aide I have had it for a couple of years don’t know what I would do without it and 280.00 is a great price for one I got mine for Christmas two years ago
Costco usually has their kitchen aids on sale over the summer. We got ours and it was the professional one for $300.
I hate reusable bags as well. So I use kind of that meal prep containers you said you don't need. Easier to store anyways

I've had my Kitchen Aid for 35 years. I saw a guy on Tik Tok that makes videos on how to fix/service them, might try giving it a tune up. Mine still runs well but it is not as powerful as it once was.

I won't use the reusable bags for freezer meals or liquids anymore. I have had too many open at the seam and I lose the contents.
I am SO glad that you mentioned the reusable zip bags! I have spent quite a bit of time cleaning them....assuming maybe the kids etc are not cleaning them well though...but to no avail, they stay stained, hard to clean and dry! It is frustrating because I love the concept the the reasoning behind have reusable items....someone needs to improve on this item! LOL. Really thought it was just me!
Stasher bags are the best silicone bags I’ve ever used easy to clean dishwasher safe.
I like sams club produce as well. Did you like the broccoli? I didn’t care for it it was kinda rubbery. My club is about 45 minutes away so we only go every 2 months. But I love to go such good deals!

I got a professional kitchen aid at Target a few years ago…. I guess they don’t make them like they used to, the beater doesn’t get close enough to the bottom of the bowl so I end up with unmixed ingredients at the bottom.

I started buying my printer toner from Staples. They give you 50% back in rewards points... girl. I use that to buy more toner! Such a great deal. I also use Rakuten for a few extra bucks. Also, the lift Kitchenaids? Those attachments are NOT dishwasher safe :(
No I wish Costco did the scan and go. But for my family Costco is the better place for us. We have both Sam’s and Costco that’s about 15 minutes away. Personally I feel like Sam’s is aimed more at businesses. Where Costco is more at households. The fruits/vegs/meat is hard to beat at Costco….

Do you remember how much the foil pans were? I stocked up on them at Costco but wanted to cost compare to see if I should be getting them from Sam’s. I so can relate about the reusable bags, they’re a scam 😅…not really but I do not think they’re worth the effort (put them in the sun all day?!?!) No thanks. Also like you I have a very old kitchenaid mixer but I wanted another. My husband bought me the smaller sized one at Target for $249 for my birthday and it’s perfectly sized for my weekly cooking. Both are lift bowl and came w/attachments. The first one I owned my mom bought and it has the glass bowl and is huge but I love it and it’s still in pristine condition. I could be wrong but I think they made them better back in the day. I actually wouldn’t mind a third in pink, but it’s not necessary. Those who cook get it tho. 😂
