I read somewhere that 17% of the Cod-fish exported every year from Norway goes to Portugal. The number might be even higher (I just remember the last digit was 7 :). Even up in the North some families actually eat Cod as Christmas dinner.
In Portugal we simply love bacalhau (cod) and we cook it in so many different ways...

Happy new year! Maybe you should do a Norwegian vs Portuguese bacalao comparison. I seem to remember that you mentioned that it was sweet that Norway has its own bacalao dish while in Portugal it's just the name for cod... so... what happened there sometime in history? Mysterious...
