@scoliva I dunno man, check out the highlights of Hurricanes vs Cheetahs (toward end of the season).... He was looking very sharp, I like Jane and Guilford.... But Gear is a beast!
@nickojb7 not sure, i haven't really seen that much of Masaga to know what he's like. Judging from the youtube videos though, he seems pretty quick. How about Gear or Howlett? :P

I do think Hosea Gear should have been the ABs starting wing for the last 3 years. But he's in nowhere near the same form since his injury, and I think Cory Jane and Zac Guildford have a slight edge on him for now.
by all accounts gear should be in the world cup, either as wing or centre, when rico gear was left out of the world cup, my first thought was.... geez no big hitters in the backline since umaga left.... true enough, the french sliced thru the backline like knife thru butter...

@ir5ac Im guessing Guildford has a better all-round game than Gear. I'll admit i've seen more of Guildford play than Gear but that is the impression you get from the way the AB selectors have gone about it for the last season and a bit.
i dun think they pikt him because hes to much of a one man army...graham henry wants his back 3 to work together...n its working for him ( mind u havin gear on the wing would b exciting lol)
Rico is the shit, but Hosea isn't a smidge on his brother. Hosea has more talent, but Rico plays with more heart. Hosea Gear only runs hard half the time, and when some1 touches him or grabs a leg he goes to ground like an old lady with no fight.
He has to run the ball harder, an be more consistent. Guildford is more versitile and is a strong performer. Gear hasn't proved anything at international level, not even at super rugby level. Gear has so much potential to be a world class winger, but only runs hard half the time, and goes down like an old granny when ever anybody touches him. Shows glimpses of what he can do, like aginst the Irish wing, who is pretty small, but he doesn't do that stuff even close to as many as the other wingers.
i'm not complaining he is not in the all blacks...... why, well because i can see the best winger in world rugby in my country during the commonwealth games woohoo, go the all blacks from india
