Did you try putting the trany in S for sport mode? If that's a bi-turbo it shouldn't have any lag, so there's something a bit off there. In "S" it will hold the revs higher and won't go into the highest gears and will keep the revs up and the transmission engaged. That Trany is quite complicated to figure out how to work it. In Normal mode the + and - button doesn't shift up and down, it locks it in certain gears, or locks certain gear out, and that will make the rev counter look odd while the revs appear to be delayed or spin up. In Sport mode it doesn't free wheel and the + and - button actually does shift the transmission up and down.

I think I did try sport mode but found no big change on the sand. really just buy the bigger motor is the best option.
