The key here is the direction of light, and the avoidance of what I call, noodaling, (overworking the artwork) . Keep it fresh, which you do exceptionally well, Colley.
Good work. Your skill in rendering a scene artistically certainly comes through. Personally, I know I would have completely bogged down in trying to paint every bloody upright on that white picket fence and trying to get every window in the top right building. Your videos teach me a lot.
Colley, been a fan of your work for such a long time. So glad to see your activity on YT. Think you’re a living Master This painting was amazing. Cheers, John South Florida
I agree with these comments; Colley you really are a Master Artist/Painter. You handled the mid-ground beautifully (you're a tough critic to yourself). I have watched every single UA-cam post of yours and more. You're my idol oil painter🤩and such a fantastic teacher. Thank You!
This has to be Cinque Terre, from your description of the train. My husband and I have stayed in Monterosso. Which town is this? I love how you show the photo, then we can see the how you adjusted it. So beautiful!
Hi Colley, you have a great eye and a knack for rendering the hull shapes and sheer lines of boats. Also a lifelong love of mine coming from a harbor town (Marblehead). A quick question if I may? Was the under painting dry when you continued painting, and was the whole rest of the demo alla prima? Thanks for sharing these videos! Best Regards, Ted Hawkes

Hi Ted, I always work Wet in Wet.
All good
Amazing painting! Do you do your blocking with acrylic and then a final layer with oil?
No, I work wet in wet from start to finish.
