As soon as you demonstrated the large turns, diagonal pieces, and S-bend, for the boat hire track, I suddenly sat forward in my chair and said "SHUT UP!!" I've been wanting that for a long time now, and I can't wait for the go-karts to get proper sprites for larger turns as well!! 😁
I've never played this game, I don't even like city building / management games, but this video was in my recommendations. Just leaving a comment to say that it's extremely satisfying to see people still working on mods for old games, for free, just because they are passionate. Congratulations ❤️
New Go Kart track pieces are being worked on, they're not as straightforward to implement though because go kart behaviour on every track element requires extra code.
Woooaaah the updates keep getting better and better! So many new pieces and the stable sort algorithm is just insane, cant wait for it to become the standard, so i can use it in all my contest parks!
And another update for free, that would have been 5,99€ by any other developer. I never noticed the different bank angles of the wooden tracks.... and I played rct since its release
This is amazing! It gives me hope that one day we will have large sweeping turns for the wooden coaster (or one of them), for some proper helix action. Also, "show dirty visuals" *guffaw* : )
The Classic Wooden Twister was added for compatibility with RCT1, to make sure imported parks look the same. RCT1 had two wooden types that got merged in RCT2, hence why there are now three.
In 2004 my second attempt at a Cedar Point recreation abandoned the normal 3/4 view and instead built the park using the diagonals as the main midway (straight back) which gave me a ton more room to build. The new angle piece for the boat hire brought back a flood of memories on needing that piece for the various coaster types to work in that perspective.
@@Deurklink Turns out the problem was that I happened to try moments after it was uploaded. Not enough other people had downloaded it for it to be considered safe.
Unlike OpenTTD, OpenRCT2 still needs you to have the original game for it to work, since it currently still relies on the assets (graphics, music, etc.) from the original RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 games. I'm not sure if it is possible to release a game like this on Steam?
Has anyone attempted to add the other 4 perspective views for this game? Imagine being able to see from 8 directions and not just the four 3/4 angle views. I would still love for a team of people to build the graphics for a peeps view. Imagine riding your creation in this game.
I don't think extra perspective points will ever be added to OpenRCT2. It would be an enormous amount of work, and I haven't really seen any demand for it. Some work has been done on a 3D viewer as a side project though (again, lots of work to transform all the possible sprites back to 3D models)

IKR. That boat hire made me pause and start commenting on the video. So exciting to see!
I was like OMG...some of the best new track pieces ever. I want the go karts to get them too.
...and here I thought I'd be the only person, who would be excited the most about those Boat Hire expansions. 😅 So great to see that's not the case.
I'm genuinely crying, they continue to improve my favorite childhood game 😭it's amazing

Here's hoping they now add all those extra pieces from the Boat Hire to the Go-Karts eventually as well!
I want to see 2 long incline for go-karts and railroad. Some thing less steep

@@Deurklink Good to know it's being worked on at least! Can't wait for Go-Kart tycoon to eventually become a reality :D
the stable sort algorithm is huge, massive improvement
oh fuck yeah, been waiting for this update. Vert Drop coasters are about to be insane

god the stand up coaster tracks have been bugging me since i was like 5, thank goodness its something that was/ is being fixed. nice work yall!😄

Heck Atari keeps selling the same version over and over again...

Woah!! So many cool changes!!
6:55 for a moment I thought "what can the possibly add for the boat hire? Surely they can't add a loop for this?"
They can't make a loop for the boat hire, and don't call me Shirley.
7:58 is not a glitch is a feature "wind" :)

So cool, thx for the vid. I actually wonder if Chris Sawyer knows about OpenRCT lol
nice, love some new stuff
Boat Hire 1 looks too Intense for Me!
I hope that shoestringing becomes easier in the future updates. Building a giant ferris wheel is still to complicated for me.
wow it finally happened
Hey everyone
I love seeing all of these new track piece updates! Just out of curiosity, are sprites being worked on for these new pieces? Is that even possible?
No it's not possible without a 3d model of the original train
bad snacks
*HOW MUCH IS THE FISH!*
What is the boat hire track even based on?
Are devs not willing to remake sprites of base game roller coaster trains?
I've been looking forward to this update for some time, but now that it's here, my firewall won't let me download it.
You can probably make an exception for it (unless it's your work computer)
@@Deurklink Turns out the problem was that I happened to try moments after it was uploaded. Not enough other people had downloaded it for it to be considered safe.
Would you post a list of music used?
It's all music from Bad Snacks from the UA-cam Audio Library. I just picked a few random ones.
Ok I’m stupid and not good with computers. How do I do the update?
There's a guide on openrct2.io, i recommend downloading the openlauncher which does everything for you
Does anyone know how many people are playing OpenRCT2?
Hallo iedereen!
Hey everyone
Is this not available on steam because it's not finished yet?
Does it need to be on steam? You can just download it from the openrct2 website
