- In this video I provide you with an in-depth review of the BF Goodrich 215/75R15 tyres I have had on my Jimny for 60k km. We discuss the pro's and con's of these tyres and bust some of the myths that are doing the rounds. Hope you enjoy this one.

Its an excellent offroad tire and for our potholed tar roads. With this tyre its the last thing you will have to worry about in very remote places.
However it is a heavier tyre and will increase the unsprung weight on the axle and you will feel it. They also difficult to balance unless you find a top quality caring tyre shop

Fantastic Video! Expecting delivery of my 5 door Jimny in April/May this year. The day I get it, I will replace the stock tyres with Yokohama Geolandar G015 AT 215/75 R15.

Hi Luis , thank you for the support , I had my Jimny wrapped with 3M vynil to protect the paint.

Hi Jean-Luc , no I dont have innertubes , they are tubeless tyres. Inner tubes add alot of weight and they struggle to get them balanced. Thus only tubeless.
KO2 compound may not be a soft as the KM3 but also note that in dusty environments the tarmac accumulates a slick film from dust so during the 1st rains whatever tyre you use one will experience slippage. My JB74W is on KM3s' and the drive is great in all terrains on or off road including snow. Agree, no tyre is perfect but the BFG KM3 are the best choice for the JB74W for my pov..

Great informative video! What affect did the bigger tyre size have on fuel consumption, what do you average now?
The tyres alone did not have a noticable effect. Adding the roofrack made a bigger differance from 14km to 12km per liter. Will check what the halfrack will do on consumption.

If I have the option in AT tyres for 215/75-R15 and also 225/70-R15 which is a better one to go for ? 95% of my driving is on road or a highway (in India many highways are made of cement), while maybe only 5% will be off-road. Thank you in advance !😊
Both has their pros and cons , 215/75R15 is still my preferance , but the 225/70R15 will also work without issues.
I honestly don’t like mine. Heavy, makes a very noticeable impact on performance and hard to balance. Need to be put on the special balancing machine. Will definitely fit the standard dunlops next. Wonder if I can swop them… got 9,000 on mine

Hi Jean-Luc , I had a look at the forge air intake. The one I had a look at was not very well designed , and it did not provide a water tight seal. Having an intake that is water tight is very important , I will rather stick to the OEM intake with a snorkel.
What will be the ideal air pressure to be maintained when we upsize the stock tyres to 215/75R15(Both on road and off road)
Hi onroad 1.8 bar and most offroad 1.0 - 0.8 bar.

We unfortunetly dont get the Yokohamas in 215/75R15 in South Africa , our options are very limited on tyres and mags.
What kind of tire repair kit do you recommend ?

Tire pressure recommended ?
Road 1.8 bar unloaded
rock terrain 0.8 bar unloaded
Sandy terrain : 0.4 bar unloaded
Yes have a look at the Sand conditions , most level sand 0.6 will work , but if the sand is hot , loose and deep you can go as low as 0.4 on the BF tyres.

Great video! Do you know your car weight? With all the upgrades my Jimny has roundabout 1.400kg. And therefore I drive with an tire pressure of 2.0 bar (front) and 2.2 bar (rear).
My Jimny is still very close to the stock weight , I have about 80kg extra weight from my accesories. Keep it light and you wont have performance or fuel consumption issues.
Would the Yokohama 215/75/R15 A/T affect the overall performance of the vehicle if I upgrade from the stock Bridgestone 195/80/R15 H/L? Is it worth the upgrade ?

Hi Adelle , you can also have a look at Maxxis and Good Year Wranglers. Have a chat to Tyre Mart they usually have stock on BFs.

Will a 235 75 R15 fit after the 40mm lift? Without the lift, I know the tyre will hit the side when making a full turn.
For 235/75R15 tyres I suggest 60mm TD suspension look at our 215 vs 235 video.
Is it possible to install reverse camera ?
Yes the head unit is ready to just fit the camera.
Sir, how about using 235/75/R15 without installing lift kit In jimny?
Some say the 235s fit , but when using on 4x4 trails under suspension flex the 235s will catch the bumper and the body. Also watch our 215 vs 235 video , much more information.

Do you know anyone running the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W? 1mm more new tread depth, same load rating and weighs around 900g more, but no sure if as tough. Seems may be better for wet roads. Trying to decide between these two.
In same size 215/75R15 should have said
Actually, looking again at the detailed specs and I was mistaken about the load rating. Wildpeak A/T3W is 2095 lbs single axle vs 1765 lbs for the KO2. Also see that Wildpeak A/T3W is 8 ply but I cannot find this for the KO2 and still not sure about the sidewalls.

I was looking for the original bf goodrich ko 2 in size 205-70-15 and this model does not exist in this size for my Suzuki jimny 4x4 with m13a petrol engine year 2001 1.3 lt petrol and I opted for a set of L tires
I think the smallest size BF does is 215/75R15.
You would say the same when fitted on JB43?
The BFs works well on the Gen3 too.
@@justjimny Hey man I was set to get the 215/75/15s but I came across someone selling 215/65/r16. I never knew this size existed! Since the stock rim is 15 inch I automatically, looked for 15 inch tires only.
So now I am dilemma because he is selling at a price that is half of what I would spend for brand news set of 15 inch size KOs. He is even throwing in 16 inch steel rims that apparently comes stock on 660cc Jimnies.
The 16 inch size has less sidewall. Does that mean I would not be able to air down much?
I don't know if you ever talked about rim sizes, please help!

Would these need a lift kit or can they squeeze through?
Not fimiliar with that size , so I cant comment. You can look at a tyre calculator on google and if its close or the same to 215/80R15 , you should be ok.

26 psi for city driving front and rear unloaded right?
Yes that should work , play around with the pressures in that range and see which one works for you👍
What fuel consumption are you getting on these tyres?
With the changes I made , I am still calculating what the new consumption is.
Great video, just get BF Goodrich made in the USA the one's made in Malaysia not as good

I have MOMO MT-8 235/70/r16 MADE IN ITALY． I used BF Goodrich 235/75R15
For the bad roads in South Africa the BFs work great👍
Does it fit the stock rim/alloy ?
Yes as you can see in the video , its on the stock alloy.

Unfortunately even on heavy vehicles, these tyres are still not good in the wet.

Yes the BFs are known for being slippery on wet roads , but still worth it with South African weather conditions🤣
@@justjimny Is there a like-sized tire similar to the BFG that IS good in the wet? My Jimny is a daily driver, occasional gravel and/or muddy roads. No lift and few mods, my chief concern is wet roads. Pretty much a constant thing here in the Philippines. I've had zero trouble with the stock rubber, however I do plan to upgrade when these wear out. I thoroughly enjoy you no nonsense input and opinion on all things Jimny. Thanks.
@@michaelnewton4678 You can have a look at Maxxis , doing really well especially the new Razors which are MT tyres. But their whole range has been good on traction. And then you can also have a look at Falcons.
