OMG. BALBUZAR I have been waiting for an English copy of this since the first French printing. Just incredible art work. Thanks for alerting me to this.
Yep. Anyone who’s an Abnett fan really needs to check it out. He’s kind of a master at writing for an anthology with mini cliffhangers every six pages and yet books that read well when collected. I love Culbard’s art too. The whole ack avenue superb. It deserves much wider recognition but I suspect barely anyone outside the UK will ever see it-even those who otherwise grab everything from Abnett. (Kingdom and The Out are two more must-have series by him from 2000 AD.)
Batman caped crusader 6 leads into the prelude to knightfall trade, so the Batman comic book is completely collected from crisis to knightfall. The companion series Dark Knight Detective (which collects Detective Comics from the same era) has volumes 6 and 7 solicited. But according to Amazon, volume 7 will come out before 6! Guess it's because of all the shipping crazyness
Ah man, bummer about Batman: The Detective! It's a cool series and I didn't know about the misprint. Thanks for the info! I remember seeing that business card on stream and its so dope! Book looks like it'll be a good read too. The Many Deaths of Laila Star is amazing! So glad you're reading it, it's gonna make you cry. Haha. I was just on BJ Kicks channel saying how I might pick up that Absolute Wonder Woman. It would be my first Absolute but I'm still on the fence.
That Caped Crusader book is giving me huge waves of nostalgia too. I was just a young kid reading comics bought by my dad and grandfather, so that's my era of Batman too. I just don't think I ever read the complete run, especially not in order, lol.
Knightfall is awesome (other than death of superman and return of Superman, dark knights metal and eath metal, blackest night and the future state event, one of my favorite storylines within DC comics!) Read knighfall if you haven't already! Love your channel near mint!
I saw an Ablaze book. I hope you get to read and review Trese published by Ablaze. It's currently the most popular Philippine comics and was adapted into an animated series by Netflix last year. Many of your viewers from the Philippines like myself would want to hear your thoughts on the series.
Pretty sure the first initial in INJ Culbard is for Ian, waiting on the second half of Brass Sun that he did for 2000AD with Ian Edgington to come around in the Hachette books and believe he also worked with Edgington on some literary adaptations. I'm up to the end of book 4 on Brink, collected as 2 of the Hachette HCs, book 5 was serialised late last year in the Prog and the paperback is due shortly. There should be a sixth and possibly final arc, Abnett has a definitive end point in sight, hopefully out weekly by the end of this year and collected next. Not enough lead time for what's left to make it into the remaining run of Hachette books so I'll be picking up 5 and 6 in the Rebellion editions. Abnett's done some great work for 2000AD, some Dredd spin offs, Sinister Dexter and particularly worth a look is The Grey Area, that last one doesn't have a line drawn under it and might come back one day but finished on a logical end point and is at least on a long term hiatus.
Kingdom and The Out would be my picks, with Brink rounding out the top three. But it just goes to show how lucky 2000 AD are to still have Abnett but also how sad it is that his UK work isn’t more widely read. Here’s hoping Omar might tempt a few more folks from outside of the UK to dip into 2000 AD collected editions.
I got Caliban a few months ago because I'm trying to get everything by Garth Ennis aa he's one of my favorite writers. It was better than most of his Avatar work with the exception of the stuff he wrote for Crossed, which I consider the best of his Avatar comics.
I think I got the first three "Brink" books on digital, in the many Rebellion digitalBundles offered in humble bundle page, quiete good worldbuilding. Also have many of the Dredd stories, including the first seven Case Files, but those Essential Dreed books on print, are a gift from mega city heaven. Saludos desde Panamá, Omar y familia!
Late watching, excited for the March haul! They never did do more of those just ducks or just Mickey box sets after the first one for each. Hopefully the mixed one keeps going. Wasn’t my cup of tea though.
I was one of those that asked lol my copy of the portfolio arrived and mostly awesome, ok Cap I guess. Saw those Psyloche and thought those were Omar prints for sure ;).
Got my copy of Legion Of Super-Heroes before the Darkness vol 2 today! Really happy with it now that its out The Legion if collected in hardcover form starting from their first appearance in 1958 all the way up to Legion Of Super-Heroes 313 in 1984! Its 19 books in total and took them 31 years but they finally did it!
Hi Omar. Do you have The Grande Odalisque in addition to Olympia? I just purchased the sweet box set with the two that Fantagraphics put out and I can’t wait to dig into it.
@uncannyomar @nearmintcondition I just noticed a Ninja Turtles Compendium Vol 1 Hardcover solicited for Sept 2022 which has more content than the Ultimate collections (includes some issues of Tales of and Fugitoid 1). If you have any further info on this please do a vid!!! much appreciated.
That’s what Amazon does! If I ever order from Amazon I make sure it’s from a third party seller. NEVER “shipped by Amazon”, no matter who the seller is.
I read the single issues and picked the hc up since I liked it so much. Had no idea about the misprint until now though and didn't notice it when I flipped through. I'll have to go back and look for it.
I look forward to the year 2034 when the next Judge Dredd video comes out on Near Mint.

Brink is really good. Amazing bit of world building by Dan Abnett. I haven't gotten a hold of Vol. 4 yet so I don't know how the story continues

I am glad you got the Superman vol 4

I’m very interested about the legion of superheroes book that looks really interesting and cool I might have to check that out
So glad DC finished Caped Crusader up to Knightfall. Here’s hoping they complete the Darknight Detective series as well!
Turncoat is really damn good

And, yep, it’s Ian Culbard. I have his Lovecraft book and Celeste, both in HC. I need to dig into those again soon. Culbard marathon!

Haul-elujah!
Just got that Deadly Class hc in, all I can say is FINALLY
Got my copy of Legion Of Super-Heroes before the Darkness vol 2 today!

It's a sin that the Caped Crusader/Dark Knight Detective material hasn't been printed in omnibus format
Will there be a when in rome deluxe overview?
Will you doing a superman/batman vol 2 overview? Not sure if im going to buy it and an overview would help
This would be great. I picked up volume 1 last year and liked the first half, but the end of it just kind peter'd out.
I just got it in. So yes. That will come.
Hi Omar. Do you have The Grande Odalisque in addition to Olympia? I just purchased the sweet box set with the two that Fantagraphics put out and I can’t wait to dig into it.
It’s been on my radar for a while as well, really digging the art and colors
Great!! Getting back to normalcy!

The glitch in Batman Detective by Tom Taylor isn’t really that bad…
I read the single issues and picked the hc up since I liked it so much. Had no idea about the misprint until now though and didn't notice it when I flipped through. I'll have to go back and look for it.
Before Tom Taylor joined the Twitter Borg
My advice to anyone is to just get off Social Media.
IIRC I.N.J. Culbard (from Brink) did the art on "You Look Like Death from Umbrella Academy"
