This is one of my favorite UA-cam videos...this and the bill napier salute to the stanley brothers
Thank good to hear this band!
I’m making an edit. Lots of Great tunes, great guitar, great banjo , great bottom bass and great collection of Bill Napier mandolin tunes plus his breaks on tunes. Thank you once again
Started going there in the late 60's early 70's until they closed. What a great place to go as a kid.
ok
Jack Cooke, the Bass player, was Hubert Cooke's (of the popular Gospel group The Singing Cookes) brother.
Always have loved the Stanley Brothers, they made some great music. Bill Monroe sure started some great music.
There was a lot of people before Bill Monroe just saying
Love the high lonsome sound of the Stanley Brothers.
These Stanley Bros shows are pure gold. Thanks for the uploads.
Such greàt talent !
And best wishes to your country and your people. We should be allies!
These old live shows are a joy to those (like myself) who are now just discovering them on youtube. Thank you so much for posting them. As a teenager in Panama City, Florida, around 1959, I used to watch a live TV show they did for (I think) Jim Walter Homes. I don't understand Mr. Dixon's comment on the banjo being out of tune. As a professional musician for over 50 years I don't detect it. Keep in mind, it is a live recording - the instruments being susceptible to atmospheric changes, etc., and a lot of early recording equipment didn't preserve or record every frequency - possibly making it sound out of tune. The Stanley Brothers had impeccable pitch, as evidenced in their tight harmony singing. All this being said, and in light of the importance of these live recordings, hardly an issue worth debating.
Ik ben het met deze zienswijze heel erg mee eens. De beste bluegrass band ever!
I think Jim and Jesse did videos for a company located in Pensacola and Crestview, Florida where Me and my
Llived too. These Great Bluegrass musicians Worked so hard and that is how they made it to the.Top !
will be missed forever................
Man how Great is this 😊😊😊
WOW! PURE GENIUS ALL AROUND
I made acouple visits to Sunset Park in the early 90's, just before it closed. Great hearing how it was back when the boys would come up-country to PA.
I see Napier was there in the mix too. Great, great show.
Justin
I appreciate you posting this show. Man this is the best in the world.

Thank you so much for these Stanley Series uploads ! I managed to get my hands on a couple, but there's a whole lot that are just nowhere to be found. If you have more of those, please post them. Thanks again !
Stanley Brothers my favorite. Bill Napier was just an awesome musician too. Thanks for this upload. This is the one out of the Copper Creek Series I missed; I used to get these live shows on LP back when they first released them.
VERY GOOD
thanks
