- Traxxas TRX4 Land Rover Defender 110 off road, getting stuck into lots of mud and water.
Before anyone says it, I know it's noisy, something isn't right with the spur to pinion mesh even though I've tried every combination on mounting holes etc! I'll sort it!

Damn that will kill a brushed motor all that mud and water....I got tired of going through motors every few months so went brushless (hw axe 3300kv) no issues with the motor since (lots of other issues unfortunately lol)
Yeah, I got fed up of killing brushed motors. I was killing some in under 20 minutes! Brushless is definitely the way to go. 👍

Have you tried out the Bronco TRX4? How would you compare this land rover defender vs the bronco? I've got a TRX4M Land rover but not sure which to get for a TRX4 upgrade!!
I haven't no, the Bronco will have a lower cg though due to the body, other than that it should perform the same. My TRX4 is upgraded though so performs much better than stock, at least in the mud anyway! 🤣😁
hi mate im looking for some advice.. ive got my trx4 in basket waiting to order but no1 can help with battery advice. ive ordered the deans to traxxas adapter you said about in a video. do you use 2s or 3s because from the battery tray size i cant find a 3s that will fit. thanks
No worries. I use an Overlander Sport Track 4500mah 3S battery in mine. Fits perfectly in the battery tray. They're a UK based company and I have a discount code for them too. Use the Linktree link in my Bio for the code. 👍
Other option is run a larger battery and use a battery strap instead of the stock battery tray arm. Hope that helps. 👍

What stuff have you done to this underneath the bonnet
It's running a Hobbywing Quicrun Fusion Pro 2300kv Brushless system and then stock radio gear. I've also permanently locked front and rear diffs. 👍

What motor or combo do you use every time you get wet or get muddled by your defender?
It's running a Hobbywing Quicrun Fusion Pro 2300kv combo. Brushless is definitely the way to go. 👍
