Flame protect me, golden vow, flamedrake +3, greatshield talisman, dragoncrest greatshield talisman, verdigris discus, full verdigris set, overloaded, opaline hardtear, blessing of the erdtree, and greenburst tear. Just use endure before he hits you and use dual scavenger's curved swords You are unkillable
Tbh this is some mild cheddar cheese right here(which suits my ng + needs), managed to beat him just before my friend found this as a recommendation to use. If you are struggling to dodge, this should get it done. Will have to remember that shield for the radahn fight

It felt very cheesy to me - Fingerprint Stone Shield is a different beast 🛡️🔥 - happy it helped in some way bro! I’ve used this strat on a few bosses now.
If I can offer some advice: 1. Add the No Skill ash to the shield so you don't have to 2 hand every time you want to use Taker's Flames. 2. Use Flame Grant Me Strength to boost your damage. 3. Use the DLC talisman that boosts magma damage; it boosts Taker's Flames. 4. Clean up your equipment setup: you don't need 3 spirit summons equipped.
You got lucky on a few things. He didn’t use the spikes coming up from the ground on you and when he impaled you, you are very lucky to have a sliver of health left. I bet this was you 20th run.
Using the Fingerprint Stone Shield strat, was my 3-4th run! 😃 Before using a Great Shield… we’re talking double digits 😅 That’s why we love this game right!
A ‘regular’ item 😮 - I simply canny agree pal. The 🪦 shield is cheesey, and turned a tough fight into an easy fight in my books. But I get your point that it’s not, the ultimate cheese 🤝
It would be time to use his kindling to burn the Sealing Tree, @ the Church of the Bud. I’ve not done this yet, as is a point of no return and cannot continue NPC quest lines apparently…
The only spell/incantation used was Golden Vow buff pre-game, you can see my memory slots bottom right @ 0:05 - mostly Dragon Incantations 😃 This was just spam shield mega parry and old faithful Blasphemous Blade! 🛡️🗡️
I went for a more unconventional way: Hookclaws. With enchantment and a mimic, it was a short and intense fight, but after some tries it worked out. Much shorter than any that I have seen... :D but also in the other direction.

If you use scholars shield it raises poise and he has a very hard time breaking your stance.

I'm on Journey 4 and I maxed out HP and he still one-shots me when he grabs me.
You would think fire doesn’t damage him and also that npc i forgot his name that you can summon is so fodder he barely helps

I cheesed him differently. I used zamoras curved sword and heafty frozen pots. Thst frozen storm ash does a ton of damage to him

In my flask is the Opaline Bubbletear & Lightning-Shrouding Cracked Tear.

Yes unfortunately, so need to choose your moments to strike wisely - and then cover back up when aggro’d onto you 😅
