The Controls is good just the controls take a while to master and If it had regular controls with the exact same level design it would not be a good game because you would have to constantly ran into things and if you don’t like it then just hack it to turn them off
@@ericestrada3530 This was the biggest factor, but there is also the fact the game was again, a remake of Star Fox 64, which was already done on the 3DS a while back
@@neitsuke Not exactly a remake, per se. It's more of a reboot of the franchise in general, much like how Star Fox 64 was to the Super NES game. Returning to its roots, if you will. And personally, I had a lot of fun playing it. Yes, the controls do take a bit of practice, but once you get the hang of things, you're in for a pretty stellar Star Fox experience.
Nathaniel Grizzle I’m starting to get it now. It’s similar to how Super Mario 64 DS looks amazing with its enhanced graphics, but that its controls are completely unrefined compared to the N64 version and someone really has to be willing to tough that game out. Yeah that’s my opinion of Super Mario 64 DS.
*I bought this game two years ago, and when I first played it on the Wii U, I found I'm literally a terrible Arwing pilot, LOL! I was all over the place. XD Still though, just like Fox McCloud and the Star Fox team, I'll NEVER give up! Practice makes perfect, so that's what I'll do! Thinkin' 'bout it now, all I probably need's a sturdier grip on the game pad! XD*
I wonder Nintendo can do a star fox combination of both zero and 64-3ds style gameplay onto Nintendo switch but this time outside of the lylat system into different worlds to help others who are in trouble.
This game might be one of the most deceptive games when it comes to gameplay. The parts that can be recorded make the game look awesome. The part you CAN'T record turns it into a damn mess.
@GAMP: Sicker than your average kigger nilller I mean, if it was just that then it might not be that bad...it sounds similar to the gyro they used for fine aiming in Breath of the Wild. But I've heard you needed to look at the gamepad itself at times to aim, which makes it more difficult to fly without running into things.
Star Fox as a concept should not be as difficult as Nintendo makes it out to be. You keep everyone inside their dang ships (no on-foot nonsense like Adventure and Assault,) make a bunch of themed planets, and cook up some arbitrary Andross-affiliated baddie for Star Fox to defeat at the end. You can even visit the same themed planet multiple times because Star Fox has the Mass Effect problem where, apparently, literally everything of interest on a whole planet is within the space of a couple hundred square kilometers. They also need to stop remaking Star Fox 64.
One thing I never really got in any version of this game (original, 64, and the clips I've seen of this one): where has the star fox team been this whole time when the war starts? Like, Andross's forces have taken over most of the system by the time they get to Corneria and lay waste to it; that didn't happen overnight it must have taken weeks or months. So where was the team? Especially since, isn't Corneria their homeworld too? Like, in the SNES version it maybe makes sense as they're part of Pepper's forces in that game and maybe he holds them back as a last resort, but in 64 and here it's just kind of weird that they show up AFTER it all went to hell
Considering Zero isn't a direct sequel and more of a retelling of SNES/64 in terms of story and timeline wise, what happens here in the beginning makes sense. Also considering in those games, Andross just showed up with a massive army out of literally nowhere, it kind of makes sense a response would be kind of delayed here too.
IIRC.... at the end of 64 when General pepper signs the invoice, it says Starfox Mercenary Unit or something.... so they were just in it for the money 😎 lol
@@Harmless_Music Yeah, I thought part of the plot was that Andross was using the forbidden teleporter technologies to invade everywhere at once. It's also possible that there isn't really a united Lylat armed forces, just planetary defenses.
I really dont see why this cant be ported to switch. It definitely wouldnt take much effort for nintendo to get rid of the motion controls. Besides they will charge us $60 for it, what do they have to lose?
Is it me....or is the presentation kinda of...well, lacking? Take the intro of this level for example. Obviously, 1:06 is supposed to be a callback to the Corneria intro in 64. But how much more epic it would have been if that dialogue took place at 1:49 instead? The level music starts, and the Star Fox team is speeding over open waters, and they each say their classic lines as the camera rotates around them. And then, Fox says "Let's rock and roll!" as they all boost and barrel roll towards the camera as the level music picks up at 2:05 and the level begins proper. Camera work and music timing goes a long way with this sort of thing. Instead, it's just a side view of the Great Fox and the SF team moving slowly over Corneria. I mean there's so much, and also not that much, that could've been done to dress up that classic intro for the new generation, but here it just comes off as lame and lazy, with the lines just thrown in for the sake of nostalgia instead of hyping you up.
You can turn off the motion controls and The motion controls improve the game they add A ton of deaf and The level design is based around the motion controls

This could have been a classic just like Star Fox 64. The control gimmicks ruined it though. The fact Nintendo never re-released it on the Switch with normal controls, just goes to show how out of touch they are.

this seems like a rip off of the n64 version at first, but it really lacks the 'fun'.. it was super FUN to fly in starfox 64, this just doesn't look fun at all, it looks more like you're moving a cursor than flying an Arwing. I appreciate the attempt but the devs missed the mark here.
