I want to build a small air boat but I need the motor and propeller and the rest of the components to go with it all I have at the moment is the 14 foot fiberglass boat
Depends on a couple things, if it’s for both lift and thrust, I’d use a 6 or 7 blade fan. If it’s only for thrust, I’d use a propeller like this if it’s going to be over ~40” and you intend to run it open (no duct) or go with the fan instead if it’s going to be smaller than 40” and you intend to build a duct for it.
Yes, we leave the governor on because we find it simpler to attach the linkage and we don’t need to rev past 4000 rpm. On some of these small engines the governor can make it act squirrelly (surging and hunting) so in those cases people usually adjust them or bypass them
@@williamnaylor2488 not really, because after a specific rpm the aerodynamic propellers don't do anything but waste fuel. That's why you kind of want to match the max engine RPM to the max propeller RPM, factoring in a reduction drive if used.
@@michiganmagneto then why are there no governors on aircraft motors? unless you have a motor with unlimited power the pitch of the prop sets the max motor rpm! I have been building and flying aircraft for 40 years that is how we match a prop to an engine.
It would do pretty well. We normally run them with a 44” prop on a boat that size. It’ll push one person and some gear around 20 mph. It’s possible to push two people with it but with limited gear and depending on the size of the people
Love y’all channel definitely would love to get a bandit on my job boat when they get completed
Thanks! We’ll keep you updated on the progress

Do you recommend a 6-bladed fan for small (e.g., 5'x8') hovercraft setups?

Im fixing to build one gonna try it out cuz i live by the river....
What size v-belt are you using? Isn't that too narrow? Probably you've tested that alright
Que reducción usas en las ruedas ?
Love to set up but if you put a larger pulley on the motor and a smaller one on the fan you'll get more power out of the fan.
Do you change any internal components of the engine? Like the connecting rod, push rods, piston, value etc?
Not when we run them on mini airboats. we normally just leave them stock and tune the carb.
Where did you get the hub from. I picked up a prop but it is missing the hub
You can get replacement hubs directly from Competition Aircraft
very cool
Whether you're using direct drive or reduction drive, do you still run those engines with the governor?

the prop is the governor!!!!

64" 3 blade prop
Curious as what the red hose is? Oil pressure gauge?
That’s just a drain hose to make oil changes easier
Por favor donde consigo el motor con la hélice y cuánto cuesta
How can i buy engine like this,.and how much the prize...

How do I order a predator engine and prop ?
We're can I buy the kit to do this?
We have the belt reduction drives and propellers on www.banditairdrives.com
How well would this work on a 14/36 jon boat

Hi sir. I'm Bangladeshi. How can i buy this engine and propeller
We can ship the propellers world wide but I’m not certain about the engine, they are too heavy to ship internationally
I need such an engine. Please tell me how much it costs
The engine itself is currently $829 at Harbor Freight
@@LoneStarHovercraft I am speaking from Bangladesh... So ... Who can I take the engine.... And Bangladesh price....
Does anyone know the price of this Injil in Bangladeshi rupees
Would not use this engine on an aircraft. It does not use a bearing for the crankshaft. It's just a bushing.
Could this work for an ultralight trike?
