Melanie A. Hicks to me unsweetened tea is like water but better. Its highly addictive. I'll also take tea sweetened with honey because honey has a floral taste.
you might have tried black tea which is a bit more bitter. I suggest you try a white tea. Those are my favorite to suggest to new tea drinkers. You can add even cold steep it and add fruits it's delicious. Although I like southern tea it contains a LOT of sugar so you can't drink much of it. While tea (without sweetner) can totally replace water as it is flavored water with no additives.
When she said "I know a lot of people prefer their tea unsweet" I was like "Not down here we don't !!" haha...I live in the south, GA to be exact. These look so good though..Love your videos ! :)
In Ontario, ice tea comes pre sweetened. So if you were to buy one at a restaurant, it's already super sweet 👍 I hate unsweetened ice tea so I never order ice tea in America
Please come out with more twists on tea as the summer progresses and the weather gets hotter! I love your variations and twist on things and would love to see what else you could come up with! 😊 Or maybe some sangrias or just pitcher beverages in general because your pitcher is gorgeous! :D
You know what? Your channel is the best on healthy eating... as a doctor majoring in human nutrition, I think your videos are very comprehensive and educational. Cheers from Brazil!
I remember I made this classic ice tea once when I was little and when I got to the step of taking the teabags and zest out, I thought it would be a good idea to do it with a sieve, so I got a bowl to catch the tea when it went through the sieve. I started to pour the jug of tea through the sieve. I got half way until I realised I forgot to put the bowl under the sieve. 😔
I would use the white sugar sweetener in the black tea recipes and the honey sweetener in the green tea recipes because green tea is extremely healthy and natural so adding the honey will compliment it more compared to the processed white sugar, which in my opinion compliments black/English tea better.
Using loose tea leaves instead of teabags isn't more expensive and often give better results. =) And there's another way to make homemade iced tea: leaving the tea leaves/teabags infusing in cold water for at least an hour, then taking off the teabags/tea leaves and add sweeteners. This method works also for infusions (mint, chamomile, rose, hibiscus,...). However, thanks for the recipes! I'll try the peach-rasberry one, maybe with white tea instead of rooibos, it looks delicious!
I am from South Africa and very lucky to have the rooibos tea easily available...they really are great tasting and smells define....just made a pitcher and enjoying it now....great recipes.
I have been doing the mojito inspired tea for the past 4 days!! It is addictive....since I ran out of the mint I didn't do a pitcher today but tomorrow its the first thing in the morning!!! Love your videos!
I live in Namibia. Traditionally Rooibos tea is boiled. I normally take 4 Teabags fill my teapot (enamel) with boiling water and bring to a boil. Then I let it simmer for quite a while. It can even simmer for 60 minutes. I let it cool overnight. The next morning I sweeten it with some honey and add freshly squeezed lemon juice. This goes into the fridge and is really delicious when served chilled.
they are all freaking delicious! do you know what I always do with the leftovers from raspberry peach tea? I blend fruit with a bit of the tea and make awesome ice cream, perfect for hot days as today in Poland :)
The iced tea is so nice! I changed it up a bit and added some mint and squeezed a bit of lemon in the end and it made it amazing!! Thanks for the recipe. It’s better than Starbucks.
Yes, I love Ice Tea! I tried the second tea, but I didn't have Roobious I only had green. I pureed the raspberries and the peach and I added it to the tea and my hubby likes sweet, so instead of honey I have him 5 drops of liquid Stevia. It was delicious! I want to try the Mojito next.
hi :) i made the classic iced tea yesterday and everybody loved it. :) i only added a bit of freshly squeezed lemon juice, and it tasted soo good. thanks so much for your recipe. this will be my new recipe for home made iced tea. xx
tried the last one and dayyyuum it fukin dank with a little sugar. jesus iv been struggling with trying to make sweet black tea for 3 months... ughhh the pain ends. love the recipe
I'm going to try this with Jasmine tea bags and add honey while it's still hot. When it has cooled down, I'll add sparkling water. When I went to Thailand, I found a canned soda drink that had an amazing flavour. I had to buy in bulk! I later found out that the amazing flavour was Jasmine tea!
Ashely Poon Hi Ashley! You can really use any kind of tea in these recipes. I used orange pekoe for the classic, rooibos for the peach and green tea for the mojito :)
I just found Ur channel and I absolutely adore you!! Some people will have three videos of each recipe that u have here but you just put them all together!! This is amazing. I love your videos. You are doing an excellent job!!
Bottles of Ice tea from retail is nothing more than high concentrated sugar drink. If you do it at home you can either leave out the sugar or add just a little.
Try a shorter boiling time for the tea. As a personal rule, I never leave black tea longer than 30s in the water. After that the bitterness will get more pronounced. I usually dip a tea bag into the water until it is soaked and then pull it out and let the water rinse back in the cup/bowl and repeat that a few times. You'll see, 20..30s with that method is plenty to make a dark colored aromatic tea which is not bitter. With this style of round tea bags as shown in this video, just use a skimmer to pull out multiple bags of the bowl. Try until color is like amber for a not to strong flavor and experiment from there.
I love tea!!! Here in my county people drink tea almost everyday and I can't wait to do this now. Thanks for these iced tea recipe! Raspberry peach... never thought of it. ^^
The south African tea is written rooibos n pronounced 'roiy boss...its a very good tea, we love it here in sa especially for ice tea. Thank you for the video let me go prepare me some
I tried all of them and each of them taste really good.
And yes, I know this was 5 years ago.
Anyone else watching in quarantine???
Nour Ahmed what one did You like the most I’m wondering what one to make
Crystal_clear Clear af the peach was the best
As a native southerner who has tried unsweetened tea, I just can't understand how anyone can drink tea without sugar.
I drink black tea with no sugar. Its actually not bad. I like it as bitter as possible but not too bitter that I cant drink it.
Melanie A. Hicks to me unsweetened tea is like water but better. Its highly addictive. I'll also take tea sweetened with honey because honey has a floral taste.

Reallllly? In my country, sweetening tea is considered really weird.........

When she said "I know a lot of people prefer their tea unsweet" I was like "Not down here we don't !!" haha...I live in the south, GA to be exact. These look so good though..Love your videos ! :)

My aunt makes a green tea with basil leaves, mint leaves, and a little ginger with sweetener and it is amazing!
I would use the white sugar sweetener in the black tea recipes and the honey sweetener in the green tea recipes because green tea is extremely healthy and natural so adding the honey will compliment it more compared to the processed white sugar, which in my opinion compliments black/English tea better.
exactLy
Brookie Irene I love using brown, unrefined sugar in black tea :) It's delicious and adds a light caramel note to it.
+Brookie Irene It was for a honey and lemon flavour :)
And with the green tea the honey would have affected the taste of the cocktail inspired tea
Direct directions, simple ingredients and so rasy to follow.. i love it..
Thanks Eve!
lol I just made the third one yesterday before i found this vid, but i was using black tea instead green though. and it is addicted.

Why they are so easy to prepare
Thank you so much 😍😍😍
I am 10 years old and I hate green tea but I tried your hack and I am addicted to it now

Why does my ICE tea get bitter ? Not the lemon its only the tea
Mine does too?

thx! i will try that! XD
you have to not over steap your tea. If it says 4 minutes you have to have the bags removed by 4 minutes. Don't forget flavors get dull when cold
raspberry peach is my favorite flavour combination
Please, use stainless steel straws or bamboo straws. This will help our Planet
