I was definitely one of those damn people Chief. I've had this dam thing for 3 months and finally got tired of reaching for it only to go get a regular straight edge razor. UA-cam magic, voila! 'Preciate it. You've done the world a solid.
Thank you so much for doing this video. I purchased two of these and after trying one, I was ready to take them back. First, it was no easy task getting the knife out of the packaging. Then, trying to open the compartment for the blades was a joke. (Who puts instructions inside the blade compartment when they don’t explain how to open the stupid compartment?) I gave UA-cam a try and thankfully found your video. Will not buy these ever again. Hope they are durable and worth the money.
Thank you for making me feel a bit less noob - if there's a bad review trend and lot of RMAs, it's safe to say the thing is missing instructions @Craftsman is lucky to have you!
i told my son to go pick out a utility blade, and this is the one he came back with...so now i'm here trying to find out how to open it. i would not have picked this out myself, so thanks for making this vid. i can't believe i couldn't figure out how to open it either... *edit - now that i have it open, the instructions for opening are inside the handle! WTF!!! SERIOUSLY???
Larry Singer haha I said the exact same thing! I almost returned it because I was getting frustrated myself. I couldn’t find a video or instructions online either so I figured I should go ahead and make my first and only video. Glad to help though!
It is very difficult to replace the blade because the button is a garbage design, it is too few, when you pull it, you will find your finger is very painful.
This knife is the biggest piece of junk I’ve ever seen. I got so frustrated trying to put it back together I finally just threw it in the trash. What a convoluted design!
Still can’t get it right please help, I push it to the left and insert the blade simultaneously but then it just gets stuck in there and the lever won’t bring the blade down
I might be a little late on this but sometimes it takes a little wiggling around to get the nose to seat correctly. Even when done right it’s still a pain sometimes
@@evildolphinslaya haha a little late is one way to put it xD I don’t even have this boxcutter anymore but I think if memory serves me right I eventually figured it out. Thanks for the reply :p
Stanley has three brands of utility knives like this, they are Craftsman, BOSTITCH and Fatmax, they are exactly the same, the black button is a garbage design, it is too few, when you pull it, you will find your finger is very painful. But they did not realize that this design was stupid, and they did not correct it.
Doug Misconish you got it! And I agree. It was crazy how they had the instructions inside the tool, and you had to figure out how to open it first to get to the instructions on how to open it!
I appreciate the effort, but use a mount or assistant next time, please. The things you were Trying to show, couldn’t be seen because you needed the second hand to hold the camera. 🤷♂️
So since me and possibly thousands others would rather take a minute to search for a demonstration to avoid any possible mishaps due to dangerous blade install design, makes us tool illiterate? Hmm could you possibly make a a video of framing a house with tools? So I know what I'm doing tomorrow?
Poorly designed knife in my opinion and the fact that instructions are clearly lacking makes if even worse. Finding the blades was the easiest part….never could get the blade to lock into position which is very frustrating. Probably a simple solution that I just haven’t stumbled upon….at any rate, it’s useless to me at this point. Very frustrated that I purchased it.

Thanks dude. Almost went to buy some star bits to unscrew the dang thing.

100% agree. I like this knife because of the quick change but it is a garbage design
Thanks ... I was close to buying a rocket to launch this into outer space.
Life saver
Thanks I was getting frustrated fast!
You got it. You and everyone else who bought this.
Thanks! How could anyone release a product with less information
Doug Misconish you got it! And I agree. It was crazy how they had the instructions inside the tool, and you had to figure out how to open it first to get to the instructions on how to open it!
Daniel Hara loin b
okay but how the hell did you get the packaging off
With a lot of frustration and cursing
Please post a video how to take it apart and put back together
I appreciate the effort, but use a mount or assistant next time, please. The things you were Trying to show, couldn’t be seen because you needed the second hand to hold the camera. 🤷♂️

Mines fuckin broken I guess, blade doesn't wanna go in

Haha

It takes a little adjusting to get the blade to sit in place but it definitely is frustrating.
Shame on me for buying a craftsman utility knife! what a crap product! DeWalt or Milwaukee!!
I agree
If this tool is that bad I don’t even want to touch their power tools
Here’s to wasting 15 bucks lol
Put it back that blade Whit u feet isn't it??👎
