Never tried it sight fished for stripers blues Albies I always use a basket helps in the surf

So the people watchin know, pulling a fish backward through the water works against their gills, i.e.- not helpful for reviving. Maximize time in the water, go forward with the fish if anything, and allow the water to move through its gills naturally. Used to make the same error here.
