i feel like one of matthew morrison's biggest, more overlooked crimes is the fact that mr. schue sang a love song with rachel in season one (which is so creepy considering she's a minor and he's,,,,,, not), and then, when she got a major crush on him, instead of actually talking to her and telling her that her actions were making him uncomfortable, he sang a mashup of "don't stand so close to me" and "young girl." that is literally the epitome of pure evil.
I remember that episode, but I do think it's fair to point out that Mr Schue was never actually okay with Rachel's crush on him and very visibly so. I can't remember exact plot details (so please correct me if I'm wrong) but I think the only reason he sang those songs to her was because Rachel wasn't getting the memo that he was uncomfortable, and he wanted to show her through a means that she would hopefully understand. I do think, looking back, that he could have just solved the whole thing just by talking to her but then again it's Glee, so of course it has to be over the top in that sense. 😂

Some of the only real friendships he ever had were either with his students or with his peers/former classmates. It can be argued that he didn't know how to even maintain friendships at all, since some of the adult friendships that he has on the show are with Bryan Ryan (which was literally built from nostalgia) and Sue Sylvester (which was more a frenemies type thing). The thing about Finn being his best man was honestly really natural since their relationship on the show was well developed with Schue serving as a father figure for him during most of the first few seasons. It's even called the Finn-Will relationship in the fandom. Seriously, it's an actual thing.
As an adult I realized that Matthew Morrison thought Glee would be cancelled after one season and figured he might as well collect that check and I honestly respect that.
I had a teacher like that, they were everyone’s favourite teacher and I even drew him once for an art project I was made to do where I had to draw one of my teachers, over the summer he started texting a student and asked them to marry him, it creeps me out to this day
this pe teacher at my middle school was like that. he called all of the girls in his class princess. thankfully i didn’t have him but i did have to interact with him once and the way he called me sweetie was so uncomfortable 😭 eventually he and his wife divorced and he moved to vegas lmao
What I loved about Glee is that the character Sue would make jokes about Mr Shue's inappropriate dancing and the fact that all of his friends were teenagers with issues.
