Many of you know Bunty ... as the actress who portrays the young woman in a-ha's "Take On Me" video, which is closing in on 2 billion views! (Add another by clicking the link above before you watch this lecture.)
Steve, a child of the 1980s who is responsible for about 2 million of those views by himself, discusses how "all songs are spiritual love songs" in this lecture for people who are interested in seeing divine sparks everywhere they look. In that way, we are all Bunty in search of our inner Morten!
Today - May 23rd - is Bunty's birthday! For those of you who have '80s nostalgia, wish her a Happy Day in the "Take On Me" comments section by following the link at the top of this page!

Love your videos and book! Synchronicity this morning when your “Happy Birthday” video notification appeared, when it’s also my birthday. ❤ thank you for what you do!

If we are diving into music and spirituality, I had a certain experience-what Jungians would call synchronicity. To give some context, for the last 2-3 years, I've been overwhelmed by the world around me, having depressive thoughts. I literally felt like everything was meaningless. I prayed to God for some faith, hope, anything. I also started reading various forums, exploring different perspectives. I broke through my initial resistance and began to read about Buddhism, learned about Christian mysticism, and even checked out some Hindu gurus-something I wouldn't have done before. All of this was connected by the concept of non-dualism.
One day, while driving, I said to myself, "Okay, I'm aware now," and I started observing the typical sights one sees while driving through the suburbs. As I was observing, I said to myself, "Alright, I intellectually accept non-dualism. It's possible that we are all one consciousness, but what does that actually change for me? What does it mean?" I kept driving and thought I would listen to some music. I turned on the standard radio station (something I normally don't do because I usually listen to music through an app). A classical music station came on, but it was currently playing old jazz tracks. The host announced first song, I kept driving and observing, and then suddenly I heard:
Yes, it's only a canvas sky
    Hanging over a muslin tree
    But it wouldn't be make-believe
    If you believed in me
    Without your love
    It's a honky tonk parade
    Without your love
It's a melody played in a penny arcade
That was the answer to my question. It's Ella Fitzgerald - It’s Only a Paper Moon by the way. Great song!

Boy, I will look at that video with a whole new perspective. When I saw it years ago, all I could think of was wow they didn’t spend anything making this video.

Maxwell has a song called ASCENSION. To me, it's a song about the ASCENSION of FEMININE ENERGY. Maxwell plays the part of masculine energy. I heard it after years of already knowing of the song, and it just hit me. Hit me differently than it is to...
