It may be an irony, but having a system to bring people into a nation via legal and lawful means is ideal. We should be more than happy to accept anyone who comes, if they come through the right ways. And we should also have ways to help those who used to come illegally to make their entrance legal. And it would be nice if it was easy too, but knowing bureaucracy it’s always gonna have too much red tape and time
@@michaelyoung7261 personally I think the dedication shown by the people that cross some borders should be commended. Do you know how deadly the area between Mexican civilization and the USA border is? I say give them an American flag cap, a Spanish to English dictionary, a Big Mac, and an appointment with an immigration worker so they can get on the path to citizenship. Every country would be lucky to have such dedicated citizens. And legal immigration should be easier too. So many people are stuck in immigration limbo that want to contribute to their chosen country, almost all of which are suffering from lowering population growth and an aging workforce.
They invited them, they didn't come uninvited, illegally and mainly just for economic gain and 9 out of 10 of them males of military age. That's the not so subtle differences those on "your side" tend not to get. Since you all view the others as children and that you bear the burden of protecting them, you don't seem to understand how racist the "white mans burden" idea is and it's very gross.
Super weird to remake this one at this time because this is not who we are at this moment. This country has done a disservice to its foundation. Watch the next 4 years and find out if we have these values. Because I'm telling you, the majority of this country already decided that we're not those people who value the future. Who value the huddle masses who care about those who are disenfranchised? I wish we was but it don't seem we are

We are. We welcome immigrants. Who follow our rules, do not work for our destruction. Ok that’s not true. We welcome even those who openly admit to wanting to destroy our way of life.

Liberty's Torch welcomes the dispossessed. A wonderful hope for the future.
A good story. Remember the ideals that we came from, and reignite them whenever they fall dim

To those who aren't. Yes... I am aware that the existence of this story is going to be seen as a massive irony in 2025.
Or as an inspiration revive this ideal.
THanks, panic drinking

@michaelyoung7261 the system that favours the wealthy? Kind of counter intuitive to the story ain't it?

I hope that sentiment still rings true that far into the future. Recent events make me wonder.

Question would not the Russian male use the name Valentin rather than Valentina? Just curious.

I seem to remember quite a few immigrants coming to this country... LEGALLY.

Too many where live, have forgotten we are great because we took in those homeless masses and wretched poor.
Come here legally and there is no problem, but come illegally, that's a BIG PROBLEM.
@thomasmandell3002 yeah says the nonnative...what tribe are you.
Took them in through legal ports of entry and used them as practical slave labor working for pennies.
@MrDj232 you forgot the actual slaves.
