- Jon & Emily brought their 2014 VW T5.1 to VW Worx for a complete 'retro' makeover! When the van arrived, it was white with barn doors at the rear but the conversion included a new tailgate, a genuine VW California aluminium roof, windows and a new two tone paint job. Inside, John and Emily chose a 'retro' blue and oak mix for their units with grey and cream leatherette upholstery. This custom conversion is based around our 2020 Newquay model, watch the film to see all of the features.

A very pretty van. Very tastefully styled... At the rear, I would like a slide out draw that can be weight bearing - perhaps on tracks that run along side the bed rails. Very interesting... 12 months and I hope to be in the market.
A couple of questions...
What is the lead time for a conversion such as this?
Is it cheaper overall to source the vehicle myself?
Thanks Nick. We can make a rear slide out drawer for you. We are currently building one in a Crafter that will take bikes so weight is no problem. With current demand, we are currently taking bookings for the end of the year 2021 (8 months). If you buy your own van and have it converted, you get the van you want and the conversion you want as well as the reassurance that you are using tested quality parts. Price wise it shouldn’t make much difference but watch out for poorly converted campers in a worn out van at top price.

One last question for today... Would I be right in thinking that you need a deposit up front to secure the booking - just planning ahead.
