10:59 Well i understand your point, but i also understand why valve would want to release cs2 as soon as possible. For example, when cs2 was still in beta, many players gave it a shot, didint like it and switched back to csgo, not giving full feedback on what needs to be change, what is good etc. From developers perspective without feedback it would be hard to perfect the game, but when players were forced to play cs2 instead of csgo, first they will be very unhappy. Thats a good thing, because if people are unhappy and frustrated they will go on rants about why it sucks etc, something like feedback. With all of these new information it is easier for the developers to fix bugs and develop the game further. Another thing popping into my mind is that if they would keep csgo and simultaneously have cs2, they would have twice as mach work to put in, because if they would focus fully on cs2 and updating it, leaving csgo a bit in the back the players that play csgo would be frustrated about not getting new content / not fixing bugs quick enough. My main issue with the cs2 discourse is people who really genuinely expected that it would have every single thing from csgo’s final version in it on launch. It’s a new game on a new engine, you cannot reasonably expect it to have the 10+ years of content from the previous game which ran on a different engine straight away. It’s a logistical nightmare. people would find bugs in the old obscure content no one plays and the devs would have to spend so much time fixing for pairity more so than they already have had to and even then people who spent 10+ years playing the previous game are mad because it doesn’t “feel” exactly the same as if that isn’t a insane thing to want. You see this with fighting games too, where they get multiple releases over the years and are continually updated with dlc etc, and a large vocal minority is mad because the game has less stuff in it than the one that had been around for years and was built on. Cs2 is a new start to allow valve to realistically continue to support counter-strike without having to work on a shitty ass game engine from years ago. I’m sure it will end up having more in it than csgo ever had. As an old guy playing CS since Beta 6.1 which has the era of the cool M4A1 with an ACOG scope and undetachable supressor, People in the newer version didnt realize that I also seen bad stuffs in the old CS v1.0. Characters are walking but you see them floating while they do splits. 🤣
I wouldn't mind CS2's problems as much if they didn't make it replace CSGO. It feels more like a shitty update for CSGO than it's own new game. It feels like a shitty game release because it's not a real game release. All of the guns are the same, the same balancing, the same grenades(except for the smoke), it doesn't actually feel like its own game. They could have maybe added new guns, guns have changed in the last couple of decades, but not we have to protect people's precious skins, that's the real priority, not making the best possible sequel, no it's the skins that matters.
there was a beta before even the first beta, it was for quake 3 called URBAN ASSAULT. The project switched to the Half Life engine (a modified quake 2 engine) due to how it had breakable glass. I'm not even sure if a full map was made, I think it was more just a concept at that point.
I recently started playing source again and i'm having the time of my life - no skin/market/season crap - no competitive ladder ingame - no horrible unranked matchmaking experience - custom maps - dedicated servers - rock solid gameplay and predictable gun mechanics - really active community of mature players - welcoming atmosphere and almost no toxicity on public servers I'll play CS2 once community servers and cuistom maps are a thing, for now, it feels like a beta game.
I don't mind it replacing CSGO honestly i think it was the right choise, the one and only problem i find with CS2's release was the fact that it was rushed to release. Seriously if this baby stood like a few more months in beta and the devs ironed out as many issues as possible when it got released it would've been rlly good, good enough that ppl would ignore the few issues it would inevitably had left and they'd be fixed soon after. But as it was rushed in time for new competitions and such it released with ALOT of issues which shouldn't have happened. I also think ppl exagerate alot too cuz some things are not as bad and Valve does release updates for the game daily so issues are blown pout of proportions and also fixed almost instantly so ppl should just shut up and go outside for a couple of days, most likely by the time they're back the game is fixed and they also got some sunlight XD
I played loads of Counter Strike Source. Not sure what's happening in your video with the headshots - I've never encountered any issues with them. In fact, CS S is known for being headshot-centric, due to the head hitbox being bigger than in other CS entries, which makes going for the head even more crucial than in other entries.
People already thinking about this: Cs 1.5 Cs 1.6 Cs:CZ = 1.7 Cs:S = 1.8 Cs:GO = 1.9 Aaaand CS2 = 2.0 Thats why cs2 is called cs2 cuz its version 2.0 of cs :D
Did you know that you could load Half-life 1 map in CS1.0? Cause you are playing the mod version for Half-life. There is all the Half-life map and you could found the suit battery charger but it's icon was a scientist screaming maybe just a place holder.
Valve had the opportunity to delay release for as long as it took to become good, and they chose to release a broken mess with less features. The older games doing the same thing is no excuse for annoying, bad desicions
I never asked for CS2, i paid 15$ to play CSGO i don't get why we can't have this now, this is so selfish and weird, CSGO was finally polished to perfection and here they are releasing CS2 which has bugs all over the place and bad hit boxes, they really pulled an overwatch 2 on us and it's just sad.
Except you can. Requires a few additional steps to downgrade (basically select it as a beta) and you're good to go. Support for it is getting axed in three months, but it's still playable after.
@@zbyszggo4626 Guess what? YOU CAN! It just involves downloading a "beta branch", which then permanently replaces CS2 with CSGO. And if even THAT is too complicated and difficult for you, you're blatantly just complaining for the sake of you wanting to complain about something. Considering the fact you already utterly made up that it's "impossible to play" CSGO anymore when it's not, that's already pretty clear.
About that "almost perfect" bit of yours - may I ask you a lil' question? When was the last time you've played Valve's official MM servers with a default config? When was the last time ALL OF THE COMPLAINERS played on Valve's officials while tweaking the in-game settings only instead of playing on HACKED Faceit 128 servers with your configs being all messed up? Yea, thought so. The "perfect game" you were playing on third-party services all these years was actually NOT HOW CS:GO WAS MEANT TO BE PLAYED. Let that sink in for a minute, maybe you'll get the point.
So you dog on CS:S by being a remake of 1.6 but with less content, but CS2 is what, exactly, if not a straight remake of CS:GO with less content? This is so vexing to me, I still don't get why people were/are excited about CS2 at all, it's the exact same game except with a different HUD and with the "jiggling keys" being a new lighting engine and smokes effects.
It's the exact same game that is on an engine that is way easier to work with, run by a company where people work on what they like and not what they are assigned to. I'm excited, because I've seen how much stuff Dota started getting when it was ported to Source 2. And because the hitreg is actually decent now, so I can finally play the game in MM.
@@ForOne814 What do you mean how much stuff Dota started getting? I've been playing Dota since 2012 and I guarantee you the Source 2 port changed absolutely nothing, in fact I'd even say the lighting got a lot worse, with less contrast and looking a lot blander overall. It took Valve until this most recent patch to finally tweak lighting and actually have casted shadows again...

For cs2 all they could've done is just port the missing content directly to cs2 so it would at least have something to do other than the same 2 maps every minute

Y'all gotta know, CS:GO only became what people remember it as after 10 years of development since 2012. No one remembers what CS:GO was back when it first released, so people bashing CS2 for being bad on startup is a little insane. It still hasn't had that much time (considering it only released like last month), and the patches are quickly releasing and the state of the game will for sure get better with time.

4:37 No, it's not disappointing. At the time people just wanted a better looking CS and for the most part that's what they got. Nobody wanted some ground breaking sequel that changes the core gameplay.
The biggest problem with CS2 being as broken as all the other CS releases is that Valve became high-hundreds of billions of dollars worth company. You can forgive 2 students (CS 1.0) and a startup company with their second biggest project (CS:S), maybe a first billions worth of a company (CS:GO). But not the Valve as it is today. Unexcusable amount of not giving a heck and they first mentioned CS transition to S2 all the way back in 2017. Like seroiusly, where did all the hundreds of billions go to?

i would argue that it doesnt feel great, it feels alright, but it does look great. there is some strange hitbox issues and dying behind walls/ weird subtick moments that are in fact the opposite of "what you see, is what you get" i do have faith that it will eventually get better
As an old guy playing CS since Beta 6.1 which has the era of the cool M4A1 with an ACOG scope and undetachable supressor, People in the newer version didnt realize that I also seen bad stuffs in the old CS v1.0. Characters are walking but you see them floating while they do splits. 🤣
To be fair, this kind of thing was still happening on 1.5 and even 1.6. GoldSrc was a very buggy engine for today's standards.
Another goated video from the goat
Cs2 is a prime example of valve not taking valve time when they really should have
God, the CS community is so frustrating when it comes to any change whatsoever
Lol, I remember the whining when they disabled a crosshair for sniper rifles in noscope mode in 1.1.
@@U99DrunkDinosaur or the AUG/SG complaints
That zm server we played in 1.6 when you were live is always empty now :'( rip
WHERE ARE THE WORKSHOP MAPS? WERE ARE CUSTOM MAPS? WHERE ARE SERVERS? WHERE ARE CUSTOM GAMEMODES?????
In the CS:S section you can get the 2004 version if you look up the Half Life 2 collections cd iirc it includes CS:S
They could have maybe added new guns, guns have changed in the last couple of decades, but not we have to protect people's precious skins, that's the real priority, not making the best possible sequel, no it's the skins that matters.
go and play csgo from the betas tab
The cscz pheonix at the thumbnail got me like "wooooah"
there was a beta before even the first beta, it was for quake 3 called URBAN ASSAULT. The project switched to the Half Life engine (a modified quake 2 engine) due to how it had breakable glass. I'm not even sure if a full map was made, I think it was more just a concept at that point.
I recently started playing source again and i'm having the time of my life
- no skin/market/season crap
- no competitive ladder ingame
- no horrible unranked matchmaking experience
- custom maps
- dedicated servers
- rock solid gameplay and predictable gun mechanics
- really active community of mature players
- welcoming atmosphere and almost no toxicity on public servers
I'll play CS2 once community servers and cuistom maps are a thing, for now, it feels like a beta game.
The title is a valid point, but you'd think if you're continuing something onwards, you'd learn from the mistakes of the past.
I also think ppl exagerate alot too cuz some things are not as bad and Valve does release updates for the game daily so issues are blown pout of proportions and also fixed almost instantly so ppl should just shut up and go outside for a couple of days, most likely by the time they're back the game is fixed and they also got some sunlight XD
let people complain so that all bugs and other problems are fixed early on
there is a thread on HLTV about cs:go when it released. Almost all complaints from cs2 are interchangeable with complaints from that
I was really waiting for your another vid
Bro your content is just too good. I like these lil silent breaks you place between topics. Classic mf right here
Honey, i dont get the cs2 drama. Game is pretty fun
And still the thumb on galil scout and sg552 is pointing out an 9:34 there there is a gap while holding the scout
You can get the CSS day 1 version from the half life 2 day one package it comes with half life source hl2 and CSS all first release
I still remember my childhood, playing old ver CSS that I bought from pirated CD games shop. Good old time
I played loads of Counter Strike Source. Not sure what's happening in your video with the headshots - I've never encountered any issues with them.
In fact, CS S is known for being headshot-centric, due to the head hitbox being bigger than in other CS entries, which makes going for the head even more crucial than in other entries.
Maybe it's because he was playing an earlier version. I don't know
@@naufalt.a8796 I thought he played an earlier version, even if not launch
i love how cscz basically didnt happen lol
if cs2 were its own separate game it would be perfect, I can't play cs anymore because of my old laptop not running that shit
Play 1.6 or source then?
@@vcr_official that's exactly what I'm doing but guess what: It's not the same
Hey, how was the cereal though? Did freezing the milk work?
There is actually older version of CSGO that wasn't released to the public.
This gives me hope. Thank you
People already thinking about this:
Cs 1.5
Cs 1.6
Cs:CZ = 1.7
Cs:S = 1.8
Cs:GO = 1.9
Aaaand CS2 = 2.0
Thats why cs2 is called cs2 cuz its version 2.0 of cs :D
Did you know that you could load Half-life 1 map in CS1.0? Cause you are playing the mod version for Half-life. There is all the Half-life map and you could found the suit battery charger but it's icon was a scientist screaming maybe just a place holder.
Finally someone said it, like cs:go had problems too
"you get what you see"
Where could you download the pod bot for cs 1.0?

Do i hear perfect dark ?
Valve had the opportunity to delay release for as long as it took to become good, and they chose to release a broken mess with less features. The older games doing the same thing is no excuse for annoying, bad desicions
I kinda like cs2, gotta give them time to see if they get their sht together tho
Sick video dude, you're like RebelTaxi but for topics I actually care about.
The main problem with unfinished cs2 is that they force you to play, you can’t play csgo which was almost perfect
Except you can. Requires a few additional steps to downgrade (basically select it as a beta) and you're good to go. Support for it is getting axed in three months, but it's still playable after.
@@gimok2k5 Maybe it is but i don’t want to, I just want to press play and play Cato
@@F1stzz Not how CSGO was meant to be played but that's what the pros played and what Valve adjusted the game around lol
Suppose it just goes to show how good the fundamental gameplay loop is if Counter-Strike can persevere even with consistently shoddy releases.
CS2 has multi billion dollar company behind it, no excuse this time
Developers, developers, developers, develop!!!
Animations in CSGO beta 🥶🥶🥶
@@arkaua I literally don't care about the graphics, I play on the lowest possible. I mean content. They've started producing way more content. Different kinds of content, too.
9:37 you say there wasnt bugs but there was a fuckload? I mean for years the community had a saying where you would get "csgo'd" where the bullets just would not hit anyone
Part of the disappointment with CS2’s launch is that Valve could’ve changed that for once. Retakes, Community servers/maps, or even just demos for premier would’ve been nice
But why did they remove csgo servers suport without all teh gamemodes and maps i cs2
dude, sjdhs idk how but some time ago i bought a cs source disk and i got one of the first releases with some deleted maps and things like that, was somewhat curious, i remember there's was a blackhawk map for bomb gamemode and was kinda fun but it looked like a really early map or fanmade map, i gotta try to find it someday
For cs2 all they could've done is just port the missing content directly to cs2 so it would at least have something to do other than the same 2 maps every minute
Update your milk
very good video !!
call them jingling keys all you like, as a hammer user the physics are great for all kinda of things.
Old CS 1.6 maps in CS:Source: "eh copypasting of maps game bad"
Not even 50% of maps from CS:GO, while only 3 of which are fully overhauled for CS2: "New maps on the new engine looK so gooD!!!!! It looks so promising!!!!"
Dude you are inhaling so much copium it's crazy, go touch grass, CS2 is bad.
fr my guy facts i think cs source is a great game cs people just like to shit on it because its not hyper competitive sweat game
true cs2 and csgo is litterally the same game
you can get the older versions of CSS off of the disk versions
proper balance between two guns doesnt mean they have to be perfectly split 50-50 in usage from the playerbase.
About csgo seriousness, i think the main menu theme and the trailer counts for it maybe? For the main menu theme i just like it more, and the trailer.. the music of it is INCREDIBLE, same for the gameplay one but.. VALVE PLEASE WHERE IS CS2 CINEMATIC TRAILER.
Also i like both cs2 and csgo graphics.
4:37 No, it's not disappointing. At the time people just wanted a better looking CS and for the most part that's what they got. Nobody wanted some ground breaking sequel that changes the core gameplay.
solid video
Where is Condition Zero?
epic coldones greenscreen meme moment
Sure but old cs game did not banned people for having amd card and high dpi
But hey you can chezt freely lmao
The biggest problem with CS2 being as broken as all the other CS releases is that Valve became high-hundreds of billions of dollars worth company. You can forgive 2 students (CS 1.0) and a startup company with their second biggest project (CS:S), maybe a first billions worth of a company (CS:GO). But not the Valve as it is today. Unexcusable amount of not giving a heck and they first mentioned CS transition to S2 all the way back in 2017. Like seroiusly, where did all the hundreds of billions go to?
wow this is an awesome video
6:58 BRO IS THAT HARD RAIN FROM LEFT 4 DEAD 2?!
what i missed about cs is keyboard shorcuts. made me prefer the older cs than cs2 or even csgo.
I don't mean this in a rude way, but you can't really say the games were "never good at release" when you weren't alive/conscious at the time and just by reading patch notes and playing the games with today's context.
new video yay!
I mean, no, you’re wrong about retail CS. It wasn’t bad. It was incredible, even during beta. Not perfect, as you pointed out, but not bad. And it did have spectating … weird to claim it did not.

CS (1.6)
CS:CZ (1.7)
CS:S (1.8)
CS:GO (1.9)

difference between old cs and now is cuz we ha a good game and they force us to play a bad one instead

This is only my opinion,
If you think it not good, just don’t play and find a better one, no exception.

It sucks cs lost content between go and 2 but the engine update was needed the source engine was showing its age hardcore and anyone that says it wasn’t is hardcore huffing that copium
