  • This is S2000 came in for a new OEM soft top. The customer also noted the car had no power and lots of engine noise.
    We located the noise coming from many loose parts and one of which was the alternator.
    It created so much noise it caused the knock sensor to pick it up and pull all the timing causing low power.

    Honda would have charged at least 300 bucks to put in 2 bolts. It's 130 bucks an hour here for their service department. DIY

    Just trying to figure out how two dislikes can come in within 2 hours of the video being posted.
    Issue fixed, although owner probably thought engine related in terms of a rebuild and come to find out 3 bolts weren't installed. New top, fixed the valve adjustment, new fluids.
    The owner is probably ecstatic that it was nothing worse.
    On top of all of that, the interior cleaned and panels wiped down.
    Must be an idiot to dislike fixed cars and #LHTTLC.

      Jason Hyde I think it’s someone that doesn’t like us. In most cases, they’ve never met us nor had our service. It’s just hate. It’s everything that’s negative in the world. I don’t know so there for I hate......

      @@LHTPerformance yeah, it's just annoying, even all the hatch build episodes there are at least 3 dislikes...what is to dislike?!
      Keep doing what you guys do best, as you've stated, it's why you've been there with lights for 21 years. I'll continue to be a customer and will have some Acuras for your #LHTTLC soon.

      Have to ignore the internet. But I do wonder if people downvote a video that shows up in their feed and it’s just not for them. Not necessarily to say they don’t like what your doing, just to tell the UA-cam gods they don’t want videos like this in their future. WhoKnows...?

      Ahmad I had this problem for way too long and it ended up being tight exhaust valves. I’d get a valve adjustment done by a reputable shop that knows S2Ks - and, unfortunately in my experience, the Honda Dealership isn’t the answer.

    • @Altron21
      @Altron21 6 років тому

      Aaron Benson, thanks for the info. I’ll have them adjusted ASAP. I know the DBW models run a bit lean and the valves tend to get tight faster.

    Im having a ticking sound on an 07 changed my tct and still hearing it. It quiets down a tad bit after warming up and can still hearing it while reving it up.. car was garaged for about two years would turn on couple times a month with oil change outa no where it started would always keep it about at 1/4 gas and refill so it wont go bad! Could it be an injector ticking?

    • @s2knorth153
      @s2knorth153 4 роки тому +1

      Try changing the oil with Castrol GTX or equivalent. You might have some build-up from all that sitting. Get out and drive the car bro. I have an '07 as well.

    • @LHTPerformance
      @LHTPerformance  4 роки тому +1

      Every time we take a tct apart on a S2000 that’s not had frequent oil changes, the oil in there is sticky and smelly. Take it apart, clean it with a fresh oil change and see if it reacts.
