Now that Covid is over. ACL needs to give RWH another show so he can have an audience. Ive been listening to him for the last 10 years. Met him once at SaM on Lamar. Nice/funny guy.
I once drove 6 hours in the snow in my '92 Cavalier wagon to see Mr. Hubbard. It was truly worth the trip. It was during the "Snake Farm" days whatever year that was.
How cool to hear about Gurf playing with Michael Penn! He’s fantastic. He’s also the brother of Sean and Chris (R.I.P.). “No Myth” was awesome! I’m assuming that was the tour? Otherwise, it had to have been the ‘92 tour. That was in support of the Free-for-All album, with “Seen the Doctor” and the excellent “Long Way Down (Look What the Cat Drug In). When I was 13 and 14 I wore that cassette out. Anyway, that was a cool little part of this fascinating story! Cheers guys! Good stuff as always!
Otis, you really should add a playlist of your complete interviews with each person. I'd love to see the unedited full interviews... maybe in the "super secret" area????

One guy who I thought would most certainly be on ACL by now is Michael Fracasso - I mean, he's been Austin-based for well over 20 years and has teamed up with the likes of Patty Griffin and Charlie Sexton, even wrote a cookbook. He might even be a good interview too, Otis!
Oh man, I love Michael and you are so right. I live in Austin and he did play a couple times on KUT. I recorded one of those Sunday night shows about 23 years ago and it has become one of the most listened to shows in my collection and I have a few winners including Ray Wylie Hubbard. If I upload any more to UA-cam, Michael Fracasso will be at the front of the line.
Heard Ray for the first time in Luckenbach at the Grit n Groove fest 2010.
Digging him ever since.
Made some memories that day.

Love this guy. Thanks Otis for sharing!
Ray has frequented Courevilles over the past few years. Never disappoints. Diggin Gurf.
Love Ray and Gurf and recorded a couple of their shows off of KUT including one with strings attached. Excellent stuff as ever Otis.

Thank you Otis, for once again, introducing me to a kindred spirit, musician, mentor, and storyteller, who I had not previously known.
Loving this series with Gurf. Reading interesting.
Great video. I love Ray and Gurf. They take me back to the sweetness of the best.

I’m enjoying Gurf. Great stuff!
Even without a live audience it was a great set.

Keep them coming please.
They probably used old laughing from previous Austin City Limits shows, as to help not have it seem unnatural.
GRF got some good recollections to tell.👍
Ray Wylie Hubbard for President. I wanna see someone quit on the second day❤😂
dig it
