Really haven’t done much research on the 2.7s. I’d guess high 12’s though
@@carsonfrankens what's needed to run e 50 tune boss?
@@Incognito0987 call 5 Star and get them to send you a tune and tuning device. Then do some data logging and they will see how your truck responds and adjust accordingly. Some stock trucks can handle e50 just fine, others can only run up to e30 without upgrading the fuel system.
@@carsonfrankens awesome will do thanks for the info helps alot boss !
@@Incognito0987 no problem man. Got any questions, just holler.
You seriously need to ditch five star! I'm making the exact same power numbers, but going almost a full second quicker to the quarter with just an MPT 93 octane tune. I haven't even switched to e50 yet! I went with five star for a while but they are way too conservative in their tuning, even for a daily driver. There were things I asked them to do that they flat out refuse to do, and MPT said "yeah sure", and did exactly what I asked.
LOL and what exactly are your 1/4 mile times with the MPT 93 tune?
@@carsonfrankens best of 11.18 @119 in a 2020 screw 4x4 with no other mods besides an El cheapo spectre filter. I realize youre pretty tight with 5* (hell maybe you even work for them), and I had a good time with them, but sometimes you have to part ways
@@BamBamMotorsports what did you use to measure that time?
@@carsonfrankens the timing system at the track...I can email you the slip if you'd like 🤣
@@BamBamMotorsports I find it very hard to believe that you ran an 11.1 with just a 93 tune. Not saying it didn’t happen, just extremely hard to believe lol
Trackhawk was sleeping at the 🎄
He was. But the times ran are in the video
@@carsonfrankens how much weight can that truck pull compared to the coyote
@@captainobvious5993 it pulls whatever I hook to it. Heavy dump trailers, tractors, cars or trucks on trailers, big loads of lumber. Pretty sure I’ve had over 10,000 pounds behind it several times and power is not an issue at all. Now the heavier loads will start pushing the truck around some, just too overloaded for a 1/2 ton…. But power is no problem
@@carsonfrankens that small 3.5 engine something is bound to blow up lol..you need the coyote
@@captainobvious5993 to get a coyote to where this Ecoboost is takes some $$$. But if you are willing to spend 20-30k then yes the 5.0 will definitely outperform the little 3.5
Were you running in 2wd or 4wd?
4wd
@@carsonfrankens it’s pretty impressive! I have an 2018 3.5L. It’s the best truck I’ve ever owned hands down
I wonder what a 2016 xlt screw cab 3.5 eco with 5 star 93 performance Tune with revision will run in 1/4 Mile
@@BlettzaHrekleW I’d say low low 13s maybe high 12s
Dammit bad ass
Hell yeah!!
Just getting my build sheet.
18 king ranch and I’ll be shooting for 12’s
Might do meth injection.
That girl moves tho!!
93 performance tune from 5 Star should get you there
@@carsonfrankens
No way.
Intake, down pipes, inter cooler, exhaust, tune, injectors, new fuel pump.
Gotta build it safe too.
They got to hot on just a tune.
I’m keeping this truck for a long time!
I really enjoy this one and feel it’s my spirit animal!!
@@mikewest5529 I run mine on their 93 tune quite a bit and no issues whatsoever. I’ve done some 12.7s and 12.8s on the dragy with no revisions yet. I keep a pretty good watch on knock count too and it seems like a really safe tune. I also paid the extra $500 and got a warranty with the tunes through stage 3 motor sports. So if something was to go wrong, it should be covered.
@@mikewest5529 ha ha ha you’re completely clueless Bud. You seriously need to get on the F150 ecoboost forum and do some research. As @Carson Frankens said all you need is a good custom tune to run 12’s. You don’t need all that crap you’re talking about. A good custom tune from any of the good shops like brew city boost, MPT, 5star or others will put you well over 400hp at the wheels and 500tq and with a boosted 4wd launch you’ll be mid-high 12’s easily.
@@cfltitan
Yep I’m clueless!! And not shooting for 12.9!!
Lmao!!! Going to make a solid low 12 pass and try for the 11’s later!
Remember I have ever single option on my truck so it should be heavy!
Even massaging seats!
So yeah I have a clue that base models run into the high 12’s.
but thanks for the “advice”
I own a 2019 F150 2.7 Eco boost. I notice it was mentioned that the truck in this video was in 4-wheel drive in all its runs. Has anyone ever used the F150 in 4-wheel drive and also switch up the Drive mode to Sport "S" I use the Sport mode many times to jump on highways in traffic, from what I was told the Sport mode just gives truck raw power. I do notice it. I raced a mustang at 4:30 in the morning and only thing that sucked was the 105-limiting speed. I have NO modifications done.
I just leave it in normal mode, traction control and advance trac off, 4 high, locker, about 2500 rpm, and let it eat.
You can run in 4hi and sport. Sport mode doesn’t actually give you more power at all, it just changes the transmission shift pattern to hold RPMS higher so you’re in the powerband of the engine.
Definitely check out tuners, 5 star is one of the more reputable as well as BCB, MPT, ZFG, and a few others.
Why do I never see any Ford's at tractor pull's ?
Apparently you arent watching enough? Lots of them...and hate to burst your GM or dodge lover bubble but most of those are diesels from the two...which neither makes their own as ford does.
But nice comment 🤣
You in 4wd?
Yes
@@carsonfrankens stock trans? I’m worried I might break something just driving in 4wd lol
@@titan7275 yes stock trans. When I first got it tuned I was at the track launching in 4x4 and then switching it to 2wd an I destroyed the front diff housing. Now I just leave it in 4x4 the whole run! lol

@@ooozooo7333 I maybe wrong. My name is F165. That is what I call my 2016 F150 2.7 because the engine is 165 cuin twin turbo v6. I will be paying it off next year. It has 80k miles and I'm trying to get my HP Tuner to turn off the 104 mph limiter.
That eco-boost timing chain won't be happy after this
Almost 40k miles and it hasn’t gave any issues yet at all
The truck isn't running a higher RPM or running out of stock valve lift parameters, so the timing chain should be just fine.
The gen 2 has an updated timing chain that solved the first gen’s issues. The gen 2 does have cam phaser issues, but this is mostly noise and has been fixed with an updated part with the part number ending in CD, or build dates newer than 2019.
That's not what wears them out, lack of oil changes is
How are you not wheel hopping like a mofo with 4wd launching
I don’t remember if I had traction bars in this video or not, but I added them. It would hop sometimes, mostly if it was spinning a little bit
And a blown head gasket for every Ecoboost. They use cheap internals to keep overall engine cost low..no Ecoboost F250s because people actually use those trucks. I can turbo a Nissan Murano and blow you away and blow my engine to. Not impressed.
Almost 40,000 miles and no head gasket issues so far! Hit me up when you get your murano built and we can test your theory out 👀😀
These engine are forged internals... no cheap parts... ur on crack
So forged internals are cheap? Tell me where you get forged internals cheap! I wanna know!! 🤣🤣 Quit being butthurt that a full size truck is smoking cars and suvs with ease 💀. A link to the ecoboost torture test. What’s that you say about people actually using these trucks?
Watch the video. Then shut your mouth. That torture test was a first gen, the gen 2 is even better and more reliable.
