Shutup & Play - guitar tutorials could you do Mrs Steven Rudy by Mark McQuinn please? There are no tutorials on it and i think i lot of people would like to see it including me!
I love your instruction, you take the time to explain. Your playing is unbelievable. I know most of the chords, have been playing since 1974 when I got out of the service. I'm retired now and living on a fixed income, but I promise that soon, I'll make a donation because you are so worth it. I wish I could pay you weekly but for me it's just not in the cards, but to me, you are the best teacher on UA-cam and people that learn from you should be making a donation. A lot of people ask what you play, I'm pretty sure it's a Taylor. I'm playing a Takamine EG334 SC. I use elixir custom lights. I'm curious as to what type and what gauge strings you use. Thank you for all that you do and to me, you are the greatest.
Please make sure you read right to the bottom-From danfhoule@gmail.com. Been playing rhythm for many years self taught. Good singer have been asked to sing but a grandfather of 5 and 40 years married no time for bands. You are the best teacher I have come accross to really be able to correct myself on things you are right on- to challenge myself to break old habits to play the song right the way you strive to do. Thank you for taking the time to teach us the right way. I have strived to have the time to practice enough to play a decent lead. I have the voice for America thats why I want it right on the guitar. Again thank you not many would take the time to share your talent but you do and it is greaterly appreciated. I Cor, 13-read down a few versus and Paul defines real charity-first quality-Kindness. Thanks again-Please continue to add those great songs and how to play them like the original. Daniel Houle-40 years married 5 grandchildren no time for bands but love practicing and playing. Your greatly appreciated my God continue to shed his grace on your life.
I'm 64 years old and picked up the guitar for the first time 10 months ago, I have been watching your videos religiously and have learned baby I love your way and I've almost learned tin man! My biggest problem in learning this song was making the change back to g major 7, my pinky finger just did not want to come back up with the other three fingers but I've stuck with it and now making the change but not as smooth as you but I know I will with practice...thank you so much sir for these videos I've been through some tough times and now I have music to keep me company...God bless you and yours.
I'd have to say Andy is the most accurate teacher on the WEB. He always goes far and above to bring the learner the best teaching experiences here. Once you've experienced his teaching you won't be satisfied with other teachers. Many times it's just the little nuances that are different but those little nuances are what make it correct as opposed to average or wrong. Learn from the best.
You are the best teacher on UA-cam. I wont even look at anyone else’s videos anymore. Ive been playing 30 years but go to you to learn new covers. Thanks man.
Careful not to limit yourself to only the music he teaches. I agree with you in some sense, if there’s a song I want to learn and Shut Up and Play is one of the many channels with a tutorial on it, I like you choose to go with his lessons. Learning songs taught by him can also introduce to new music you haven’t heard as well!
I learned this song many years ago but I still picked up a few new tips from this video. Your teaching videos are by far the best guitar teaching videos available. Thanks for all your hard work in making these videos available to us........you da man!
I’ve been trying to learn this song since I started playing 11 months ago. This is, by far, the best teaching tutorial on how to play this song. He moves at a nice even pace, and you can clearly see what he’s doing, thanks to the dark background. He did a great job explaining the arpeggios at the end of the song. Count me in as a new subscriber.
Don't ever just "shut up and play!" I love all the stories and interesting facts about the musicians and producers of the songs. It's what makes your tutorials so unique. Thank you!
I used to play the bass cover of that song in my first band we were pretty so young way back then We used to play all the hits. unforgettable indeed. Well done and cheers.
You're the only tutorial that sounds exactly like the original. A lot of these tutorials they throw in their own ways of strumming and it's just not the same you are like right on.... so..... right on dude
I’ve been playing this for over 30 years and you got it exactly right as I know it. The only difference I play is the verse. I play the Gmaj7 and Cmaj7 off the bottom 4 strings sliding up from the 3rd fret to the Cmaj7 at the 8th fret. I like the higher pitch the chorus transitions to playing off the top strings.
Great ! It's a little tricky to get the vibrato with the pinky on the piano part. You have a knack for these much appreciated and well made tutorials. Thanks from Detroit Rock City !
U choose the song u like to teach us, n u like to play to the 'original' or at least the sound of the guitar is n I love to learn from u...Kudos man u r a great teacher
Love your demos & lessons! I really enjoy listening to you give us the tidbits of background on the song, artist, producers ect. Keep up the great work!!
I’m doing a deep dive into America so this was fun to listen to. I’m glad that he mentioned Willie Lecoux, the drummer as he recently passed. But he was with the band for 45 years.
Great job as always! Sweet tune, lovely chord voicings and yes the bass line makes the whole song! Killer bass part. Whoever authored it is to be commended!
Absolutely agree! I played the bass part in my Demo, and the whole time I was learning it I was thinking what an incredibly great part! It was played by Joe Osbourn. He was part of the Wrecking Crew that played on a lot of hit songs in the 60's and 70's. Cheers, Andy.
@@ShutupAndPlayGuitarTutorials Oh yes the Wrecking Crew! No wonder! LOL. And you did a great job. I played it on bass back in the day as well and always just loved playing it! All the best.
You are certainly one of the best teachers there is period. Thank you so much for inspiring me to be a better guitar player. One quick question, "Are we ever going to see what you look like?"
What a useful channel! I had high hopes when the video started without the "look at my monster shredding" intro that's almost required on guitar channels that this was going to be good, and I'm not disappointed.
This has always been one of my favorites to play at parties, but I never had it just quite right with the intro. I just played D11 & D7. Now thanks to you, I have it! Certainly do appreciate it. Thanks.
Thank you so much for your in-depth accurate tutorials, also thank youfor listing your gear, I was going to ask. I run my Fender cd-140sce and 94 Alvarez Regent 5214(rare axe) through chorus and compressor to a Crate V18 all tube through a celestian cream back. Pure ear candy.
love this song growing up, this was a time I wanted to play stuff like this, and people who were around me were rock and laugh at me when I even suggest playing it.
this guys comments below me are spot on, and I don't care what people think or feel about my taste for music I hear it no matter where I'm at I hear it and I just got to sing along.!
Excellent video. I enjoy all of them. Back in the day we had to sit down with the record and try and figure it our on our own and it was not easy. Today you just check on UA-cam. Another thing. These songs like America showcased here--those songs were ARTISTIC COMPOSITIONS by extremely talented people unlike the talent mocking buffoons on the airwaves today. Each group back then was so unique in style and technique it inspired you to learn and adopt their style. It was the hallmark of excellence and musical sophistication. That is now gone now all we have today are great pretenders who need to find another form of employment!
Super Talented Tutor, your voice suits your style of teaching. A Real Master. Wish you would show us your face once. Adulation & Respect sir. Thank you.
Hi Irvin. I ALWAYS do a complete demo of any song I teach. For copyright reasons, sometimes they're in a separate video. In fact I spent many hours recording my Tin Man demo, programming the drums, playing the bass etc..The best place to take in my content is on my website. If there are multiple videos they're all together on the same page: www.shutupandplay.ca/tin-man--acoustic.html Cheers, Andy.
SUP, you are one of the best. Your lessons are spot on. Much appreciated. On this one, Dewey played a nice little solo right after the first two intro chords. Would you like to show us how that was done? Thanks for the great lessons.
Nice to find another America buff. I have a Taylor 214 ce deluxe.. Dewey's stuff all polished never sounded better. George arrived at the perfect time for this band.
Do sweet child of mine series !! You'll be the first on acoustic with a nice complete series, and I really need to learn the solos. Excellent job btw Greetings from Norway :D
