I think it's about riding the board to the best of your ability AND riding the wave the actual wave to the best of your ability and what it has to offer.
Even at 51 Kelly Slater still rips and has so much style 🤙 representing Florida, I think WSL wants Ethan in the finals😂

This has been going on for years!! At 51 he’s killing it!!! Sometimes it seems they’re trying to force the retirement..
I agree. His surfing in this heat was some of the best small wave surfing I have ever seen. Meanwhile the talking heads even downplayed his surfing. Why would you intentionally want to force Kelly to retire when he is still the biggest draw in surfing? Seems crazy but does seem that that is why they’ve been doing.

Ethan so overscored, it doesn't matter now who is against, Ethan and Griffin a é being overscored to try to get them to the top 5. All united to have an Australians or American world champion.

When Kelly surfed his CI Tangent model about a decade ago they were 5'9-10 right on point and he never regained that performance level since .....
